Lafarge 's growth strategy is to shift focus from Western Europe and North America to emerging markets such as Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Central Europe, and Latin America, which now account for more than half of sales. 2. The majority of its sales come from cement; the company has more than 60 cement plants and an annual production capacity of more than 95 million tons.
