Starved Rock Park is a beautiful, marvel that lies along the Illinois River just 90 miles West of Chicago. The park was named after a battle that took place in 1760 that involved the Ottawa Indian tribe. When the battle broke out among opposing tribes the Ottawa Indians were forced to take refuge on a giant rock. Several days after the battle, the tribe began to run out of resources and eventually starved to death, giving the rock and the park its name. The rich history of the area began in 8000 BC when the Archaic tribe first settled there. From then on tribes such as the Woodland, Hopewellian, and Mississippi have also inhabited the area. After the 1760 battle, however, Indian activity at Starved Rock Park declined leaving the area
By the early 1960s, the Post had lost membership considerably and the cost of maintenance of the Legion’s 45 acre property become a financial burden. In 1966 the City of Miami purchased 37 acres of the Legion’s 45 acre property for $862,000 leaving the Legion with 8 acres where the Legion Hall was built; the new building was located south of the “Legion Park” as the property was named when became a public park for the upper eastside. Miami’s purchase money came from two federal grants and city bond funds. Congressman Claude Pepper’s bill allowed Miami to obtain funds from the Federal National Urban Renewal Act’s “Open Spaces” program that encouraged dense cities to create more “green spaces.” And so, Legion Park was born and the Post got a
I think Comerica Park field is very interesting for many reasons. It would be easy for me to choose an MLB field, and it would be Comerica Park because it has a singing stage in right field. Comerica Park can hold 52,416 fans in it. Over the years Comerica Park has changed a lot over the years. The players get to play with colored bats and the bats are colored when they get them. The bottom knob of the bats have the players number on it. Tiger fans talk about the history of the Tigers. The history of the Tigers is interesting because Andrew Romine played all nine positions in one game.
Some of the difficulties that Melba witnessed and experienced during the 1957 integration efforts of the “Little Rock 9” are when in chapter two after they made the decision on Brown v Board of Education when Melba was walking home after school a white man attempted to kidnap and assault and possibly rape Melba just because she was a young black girl.
Melba Patillo was kicked, beat up, and had acid thrown in her face. At some point during school white students burned an African-American effigy in a vacant lot across from the school.
Six years ago, my family and I went to Turner Falls Park in Davis, Oklahoma. We arrived at the park early in the morning and got ready to go swimming. I went to the restroom and got changed. When we were ready, we left to go swimming we walked on a bridge to get to the swimming area, there was a huge waterfall and we went swimming under it. After that we went to another swimming area that had two big slides, we swam there for about and hour then went to our camping area to eat. The next day we went hiking on trails and also went to a castle that was made of stone. We spent the rest of the day swimming and looking around the park. It was a great experience and It would be great to go again. In this essay you will be reading about history, a physical description
There are many ways that the press worked to clarify events for the national audience from the Little Rock Nine. The Little Rock Nine was a group of nine black children who wanted a chance to go to Central High School for educational purposes. What they didn't know was that there were segregationists who would do everything in their power to make sure the black students wouldn't have the experience they wanted at Central. The media took these moments to make news that everyone would see and know about.

If two people of different races are just alike you shouldn’t separate them. But you also shouldn’t tell one part of the story to make something or someone look good. The Plessy vs. Ferguson case came up with the famous quote “separate but equal” Meaning things could be separated between races as long as each race had all the same things. Particularly in this case between Blacks and Whites, but in schools, restaurants, and many other places it wasn’t equal. So there was a case called Brown vs. Board of Education which fought to integrate schools and Brown won. The first to integrate was the Little Rock Nine in Little Rock, Arkansas. While the Little Rock Nine were integrating the press illuminated and distorted information and pictures of the

In 1957, Little Rock, a town in Arkansas, was one of the first places in the south to have integrated schools. The Little Rock Nine was a group that started the desegregation process. They were a group of nine African-American boys and girls who were going to integrate Central High School. This caused many problems with segregationists because they did not want their schools integrated. Segregationists created mobs around Central and did many things in protest. At Central many of the African-American kids experienced bullying. As a result, they fought through the bullying and pursued. Photographs, television, and newspapers were all news mediums used to illuminate events surrounding the Little Rock Nine even though they weren’t always correct.
The events that took place surrounding the Little Rock Nine Crisis, are still embedded in the minds of many.
