I have completed bachelor studies in biotechnology from University of Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. During bachelor studies, I have studied core subjects in biotechnology however, the subject which completely drew my attention was biochemistry. What electrifies me about biochemistry is that it is multidisciplinary field which bring mathematical, statistical and computing approaches to solve biological problems by using DNA and amino acid sequences and related information, therefore, many other fields like molecular medicines, agriculture and microbiology can get benefits from bioinformatics, which shows the broad range of this field. So I want to be a part of this field which is creating new approaches towards the biological science …show more content…
Due to these technological advances now practical work related to bioinformatics can be performed with ease and can be done quickly by running bioinformatics related programs. Moreover, I also want to work on drug designing and to achieve that goal, bioinformatics is the ultimate field. Over the past decades the drug discovery scenery has changed vividly, computer aided drug designing is the top most area in my research interests. I am most primarily interested in molecular modelling drug design by using primary data for formulation of new drugs. As it has been evident through research that the main obstacle in drug designing is the interaction of given molecule with target which is extremely difficult to predict , however, …show more content…
I know from my personal experience that cross cultural impacts are very thrilling as I was the member of international society for computational biology Pakistan chapter , these experiences have helped me to realize how people form diverse background may approach challenges from different perspectives and by sharing and discussing ideas we all can benefits and resolve difficulty at hand. Therefore I am convinced that studying masters of bioinformatics at saarland University will be the optimal gateway for a successful scientific career for
• Mutations in the ALDOB gene reduce the function of the enzyme, impairing the ability to metabolize fructose.
gluconeogenesis slow down in which release of glucose to the blood stream is also slowed down
In humans/animals, the main cells that store fat for energy are adipocytes. These fat cells are found under the skin, in the abdominal cavity and surround major organs. The fatty tissue is the body’s main means of storing energy for long periods of time. Lipids, like triglycerides are stored in the adipocytes until ready to be used by the body for energy. Fat is broken down through metabolism in the mitochondria of the cell. The triglycerides are broken down into glycerol and 3 fatty acids. The glycerol can be easily converted to glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate, an intermediate of glycolysis. From there it can go through the Krebs Cycle and electron transport chain to make ATP. The 3 fatty acids can be broken

Explain the role of RNA polymerase inhibition in causing the poisonous effect of the death cap mushroom.
I have found studying A –level Biology very intriguing; it has enhanced my knowledge of key biological processes that allow humans to thrive as a species and given me some insight into relevant topics of Biomedical science such as genetics
For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in science. When I was younger, I had always wanted to learn about animals, as well as the natural world around me. Today, I am no different, and expect that my passion for science will remain consistent throughout my future. I would like to pursue a career in the biotechnology field because I have developed a specific interest in forensic science during my high school career. I have already been taking steps in order to prepare myself for a career as a forensic scientist, as I am currently in the biotechnology program at North Point High School. The biotechnology program has given me a deeper insight to what kind of careers one can pursue in the biotechnology field, as well as a good foundation of knowledge that I will apply in my career. In addition to being in the biotechnology program, I am enrolled in accelerated science classes, and am planning to graduate high school with twelve science credits.
If I were to conclude my education after finishing secondary school, there would not be many fruitful paths ahead of me. Without pursuing further education in post-secondary programs, life would be prolific with simplicity; there are those who advocate the concept of simplicity over challenge, but in a life abounding in simplicity, I see a life of tedium. By enrolling in post-secondary programs, I expose myself to novel challenges and opportunities. Furthermore, I have the freedom to explore my passions and satisfy my ambitions. In my case, I have a passion for biological sciences and knowledge, and a fervent ambition to gain as much relevant knowledge as possible. At a post-secondary institution, I am able to choose the degree that is
Concerning my education, I graduated from school with a Lebanese Baccalaureate in Life Sciences. Shortly afterward, I enrolled in Beirut Arab University (BAU) as a biochemistry undergraduate knowing that one day I’d be pursuing a career in a field of or pertaining to genetics. I’ve had a certain curiosity in everything molecular ever since I learnt what a chromosome is. Three years into
As an undergraduate at Michigan State University, I quickly focused in on Biochemistry as my field of study. I have always favored science classes, but biochemistry broke down the elegance of a biological system into complex chemical reactions; it only took one class, and I was hooked. Although I struggled my senior year with a demanding class schedule and two jobs, my determination and time-management ability allowed me to graduate in a total of three years.
The field of biochemistry is centered on the exploration of living things through chemical and physical research. Bio chemist focus their work on researching the important factors that go into learning about genetics, the development of growth and many other biological processes that occur in the human body. The field makes several contributions to the advancement and protection of human life, as well as provides important research needed for future generations. Biochemist work with advanced technology to perform scientific experiments in order to study things like, protein shape and structure, molecules, and enzymes. They also expand knowledge regarding improvements that can be made to products and medicines that already exist. The field of biochemistry deals with complex
This made my decision to pursue BSc (Research) in Biotechnology. My future goal as a scientist is to battle the hardest challenge- CANCER. Understanding the basic mechanisms are very important to work
My Undergraduate degree of Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field covering biosciences, biochemistry, mathematics, probability and statistics, biophysics and computer science. Subjects as varied and seemingly disconnected as these being studied together helped me understand that biology is developing into something more than pure life sciences. When I was in school, my 9th and 10th grade biology teacher, Mr. Samuel, recognized my passion for biology and encouraged me to pursue it. I have always enjoyed my math classes too and wondered if there was a way to connect both subjects. I discovered Computational Biology to be the perfect embodiment of this idea. The roots of the field lie in Biology and branching out of it are the applications of mathematics and computer science to understand the subject in a completely different way. Having knowledge in various fields certainly makes the job easier, as we know which field can cater to what part of the solution. I imagine every disease to be
Bioinformatics is the integration of computers and software tools to analyse information associated with biomolecules on a large scale. Conventionally, biological study examines individual system in detail and uses the data that is produced to frequently compare similar systems that are related. However, bioinformatics facilitates scientists to study and conduct global analysis of all the available data. This allows researchers, to uncover common principles that may be applied across numerous systems, which results in different features to be highlighted (Luscombe , et al., 2001).
Biochemistry has proven to be helpful in many ways. Biochemists have found cures to many diseases, and they have found better ways to cultivate crops to make them disease resistant. These are not the only things biochemists have done for us, but they are just a few of the many things. A lot of people do not know what biochemistry is, or why it is so important. This paper serves to inform people about why biochemistry is important, along with some other information about it.
