Hej,
My mentor, Erik Thun, a co-worker at IKEA, made me aware of the IKEA Management Trainee Program. Based on our discussions within the mentoring program he believes my background and personality would be a good fit for a future position as leader at IKEA. Since I plan to finish my Master degree in business process and supply chain management in June I believe IKEA’s management trainee program is a very interesting opportunity to develop my professional career.
One of the most important skills I improved during my master studies at Linnaeus University is to work together in international teams. Being able to adapt to different culture has proven to be very important and developed me in many ways. Within various student projects that were carried out in a group, I have been able to use my leadership skills to increase the group’s success.
Before I came to Sweden, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems with a specialization in Application Management from Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Mannheim, Germany. The combination of business and technology is

When looking back at my work in a the leadership team at a children’s holiday program I remember that in stressful or hectic situations I tend to analyze the situation and try to lead as structured as possible. Afterwards I got the feedback that helped my team members and that they felt comfortable with coming to me with any questions or doubts they had which I appreciated very much. Stressful situations for example can be when the children (around 200) meet at the first day and are forming groups. Others, when they are leaving with different buses or are picked up by the parents. In these situations many questions arose and it was important to oversee the situations very well and be approachable to
In this journal, I will discuss my strength skills and skill that I would need to make growth in. Then I will discuss strategies I can use to enhance my group leadership skills that I need growth in.
According to Major General Charles Dunlap, Jr., U.S. Air Force (ret.), lawfare is defined as “the strategy of using-or misusing-law as a substitute for traditional military means to achieve a warfighting objective.” Orde F. Kittie, author of Lawfare: Law as a Weapon of War and professor of law at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law, provides a compelling analysis of the use of lawfare in recent history, both by U.S. and foreign entities. He shows how even non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are able to effectively use law as a weapon against foreign and domestic actors, motivating them to make changes which benefit the particular NGO. The major point that Kittrie attempts to make in his work, however, is the lack of acceptance that lawfare has been given by the United States government. He compares our use of lawfare to that of China, U.S. private sector entities, the Palestinian Authority and Palestinian NGOs, Hamas and Israel, effectively
Gun regulation has been a controversial topic since they were first established as a weapon. People for and against gun regulation provide strong arguments for their side. Gun regulation has fluctuated over time due to changes in office. Being a democracy prevents us from having consistency. As a nation we continue to change regulations on guns because of the different views our democracy allows us to have. The main aspects pose the most problems in gun control are violence, illegal sale of guns, and mental health checks.
I plan to make use of my leadership style as both a student and alumnus of Goizueta Business School in a way that will impact positively on the institution. As a student, I will utilize my leadership style as a problem solving tool in group settings. This I could do by supporting the agenda of teams, in which I happen to be a member, through encouraging collaboration. If elected to any position of leadership, I will ensure that I create a cooperative work

Ikea has grown into a worldwide phenomenon with an almost like cult following and the world’s largest furniture retailer due in large part to its founder Ingvar Kamprad’s charismatic personality combined with his own philosophy of business management and the Scandinavian style of open management he has parlayed a fortune that will be left to one of his children who has proven their own business acumen by running one of his many companies profitably. According to Kamprad himself in his July 23, 2008 Acticule published by stoked in Major Companies Kamprad states;
Everywhere we look there is information from media outlets over saturating television and radio. It’s common knowledge that media outlets withhold information to present their point of view on a subject. Leaving out information is not illegal but it is extremely detrimental to society at large. Media companies create bias by: bias of commission, bias of omission, and bias of story selection. By not giving all of the facts to win the publics favor the media is not allowing society to form its own opinion.
The stores have restaurant, childcare facilities and plenty of parking. Customers can drop off their kids at the playroom and have delicious meal when they are tired. All of these not only provide customer with a comfortable shopping environment but also let them make an ‘IKEA trip’ and enjoy the fun of buying. Besides, IKEA’s distinctive show rooms help creating differentiation. Products are strategically placed in different small spaces like rooms which allow customers imaging this furniture in their own home. This makes everything looks more attractive.
Having good leadership of any project team is undoubtedly essential for the success of the team. It is thus imperative for virtual, cross cultural teams to be led properly and carefully so that their cultural diversity and virtual presence does not become a source of conflict and eventual failure.
IKEA is a privately held, international company that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture such as beds, chairs, desks, appliances and home accessories. The company is the world's largest furniture retailer.
The services and products offered by IKEA provide value to its customers in various ways. For one, the products and services are very affordable. The products and services are not priced highly and therefore, the average customer can enjoy them. At the same time, the products are of high quality. From IKEA’s slogan “low prices but not at any price”, it is clear that the company prices its products lowly but that does not mean that the quality is compromised. IKEA satisfying its customer’s needs through providing them value for their money as they provide quality products that will last for a long time, and at affordable costs. The fact that the company has set the minimum acceptable standards for its wood, implies that it is also keen on quality and on the environmental impact of its action of making furniture ( Edvardsson, Enquist & Hay, 2006).
