As an aspiring high school student I must broaden my knowledge to the community which I may reside in the mere future. Which is why I decided Montclair State University is the right choice for me. Montclair University possesses the ability to both educate me academically and culturally to the world around me. Through its large and diverse community I would be able to expose myself to something new and unique everyday. To climb to a higher level of enrichment, all I must do is walk out the front door and speak with the thousands of people from all over the world who are enrolled to the university. The campus also hosts hundreds of classes, programs, and events which can help educate me and steer me down a path of understanding and acceptance.
Framingham State University will prepare me for a productive life, enhance my learning and enhance my current leadership skills, intern this will contribute to my future once I graduate. An opportunity of this caliber would launch my learning and continue to ignite my passion for learning. The college of my choice is Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University located in Prescott, Arizona. Embry-Riddle is exactly 1,869 mi from where I reside and it would take me 1 day and 7 hours if I decided to take a road trip there instead of getting a plane ticket. I choose Embry-Riddle University because I did a virtual tour of their campus and it was beautiful, the buildings and the outdoors of course. Also they have an amazing aviation program to help me become a pilot and students of 2018 that attend this program say that the teacher take the time to help you if you need it.
The main reason I came to Bronx Science was because Bronx Science was my top choice for high school. Both my mom and I felt that Bronx Science will give me better opportunities than what the University Scholars program at Francis Lewis, the other high school I was accepted into, would give me. In this course I hope to cover genetics or anatomy because I am highly interested in the human body. I would like to know how cells work as well as DNA. I would also like to know how is passed down and what DNA we share with other things, if any, because of evolution. I am interested in anatomy because I’d like to learn more about how different parts of the body works with other parts. I find the anatomy of animals and insects especially interesting because
While I am focused on a career in science, I want to utilize the Stony Brook University Honors college to strengthen my current skills and expand my knowledge to create new perspectives. An interdisciplinary education will help me develop a comprehensive understanding of important issues as well as break down the barriers of academic isolation. In many schools, there is very little communication and collaboration across departments leaving them isolated in their perspectives. In many academic fields, particularly science, the knowledge gained in one subject often serves as a way to deepen the learning experience in another subject.
Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) offers a lot for us, students, in the Residence Halls. Comfortable lounges for us to study and hang out with our friends, free cable, accessible water fountains, and microwaves and mini-fridges are already provided for us. However, something valuable is missing from our Residence Halls that would have been a huge plus to living on campus. Where are our kitchens? The meal options at OLLU are great, but the food at the Cyber Café tends to get boring and bland, and the Sister Annie B's Cafeteria can get crowded with long lines to get food. Cooking is what makes food exciting and more gratifying, but without a kitchen, how will we ever learn to cook for ourselves and enjoy food? The new
My intended major is that of bachelors in Japanese. Japanese has always been an interest to me as I grew up in the Japanese side of my household. Due to this upbringing I have been exposed to Japanese culture since I can remember. Though my Father and Grandparents refused to teach me the language as a young age, they began to support my interest in the language and culture when I started journey in Mira Costa Community College. In Mira Costa, while taking my first Japanese course, I was introduced to the Japanese club at the college. In this Club, the members made sure to create activities and programs that would help spread the culture and knowledge of Japanese and the language. Along with this came people that introduced myself to the International
Middlesex community college has impacted me tremendously as a scholar and as a human being. Middlesex community college provides a friendly environment which encourages me and other students to be creative. I met new friends. I had the chance to help the community by volunteering through the student and engagement office. Most important I had the chance to express myself and sharing my experience and story as a human being. The faculty, staff, and counselors are extremely helpful. They work with us to make our goals are achievable. I glad that I did the decision in attending Middlesex community college.
“Education is the foundation upon which we build our future.” This quote was said by Christine Gregoire, and never were truer words ever spoken. It is my personal belief that the education I can receive at Montclair State University can be the starting point to which my career in the arts can prosper. I have heard many people, from alumni to friends of alumni, talk in high regards about the theatrical program at MSU. Some say that it was the best training they ever received, and others say that their friends who went to MSU were able to be consistent working actors due to their training. It is my ultimate goal to take advantage of the amazing resources at MSU if I’m able to make it in the Music Theatre program. I
I was born in the Philippines, but came here with my family when I was 2 years old.
During my senior year of high school, I was not financially stable enough to depart from my hometown and my family. Therefore I enrolled in John Tyler Community College because I felt that it possessed the ability to help me progress academically while allowing me to remain close to my family members. However, I found that John Tyler’s real estate program is not stimulating enough, and I wish to challenge myself further by transferring to VCU. John Tyler Community College offers a real estate career studies certificate, but I do not believe it would enable me to reach my full potential as a bachelor's degree from VCU could. To pursue my goal of attending VCU, and to prepare myself for more rigorous curriculum, I began to enroll in courses transferable
What am I doing here? I am here for multiple reasons. The number one reason I am here is because Defiance College is the only college in the state that has Digital Forensics. This made me not want to go out of state because the tuition would cost over double the amount that I spend here. Being with my family when they needed me or I needed them was a very important factor. Defiance is small, so you can make good relationships with teachers and students. This school also has many clubs that interest me like marching band, pep band, and DC Anime. Defiance College has so many opportunities to explore. To find out what new things I like and what I want. The Digital Forensics program is a really well rounded program that will teach me a lot of new
Education never interested me. My parents weren't bothered if I wasn't into school. As long I got a "C or D" I was safe. It wasn't till I got accepted into the ACE program at Gateway Community College that I started to value my education. This program allowed me to attend Community College while in high school. I grew strict towards my education meaning I no longer just aimed to pass. As I changed my attitude towards my education my parents did the same thing. They no longer tolerated "C's or D's". I noticed once I started to root for myself I seemed to gain support from my peers, teachers and most importantly my parents. Ever since that change multiple doors of opportunities have opened. Of course the journey I took to change my attitude wasn't
I believe that everyone the potential to make a difference in this world; it is just so that many don’t have a support system to push them towards achieving a goal. Kids from the beginning are perpetually convinced that they are worthless and that they could never be successful. Fortunately, I am blessed with a community who gave me the confidence to discover that I can achieve whatever I wish for in life; that group of people is UCLA Unicamp. UCLA Unicamp is an organization that strives on changing kids lives’ from all over Los Angeles. UCLA students volunteer as counselors and take the campers up the mountain to Camp River Glen for one week. Unicamp has many programs directed towards different life skills and the one I enrolled in was Unicorps; Unicorps is based on learning the value of community service and leadership.
