In today’s economy, college can be used as an investment into yourself for numerous reasons. The most essential reasons are to make more money, have better opportunities, and networking with others to lead you to an ideal lifetime. As for myself, I’m going to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to attain my Aeronautical Science Degree to further understand the principles of flight. During my four years I will study and train to increase my skill in aircraft handling and eventually increasing my ratings from single engine to multi-engine, VFR to IFR, and from private pilot to Commercial pilot license.

guild, science club, photography club, and Remus and Hound. Next year, I would like to
I came to SIATech to get my diploma. More specifically get a diploma so I can move onto college. And I’m glad I came to SIATech it taught me qualities I’ll need in the future to get to where I want to, most importantly it taught me commitment and responsibility. Getting up early in morning and having to take the bus and sprinter to go do some schoolwork I’ve already done or have some type of knowledge in just to finish something I was supposed to have done a year ago, definitely hit me with the realization how stupid it was not to take school seriously. Life is sort of like a race, though you’re only competing with yourself, it doesn’t mean you should go slower just because you can, you should work faster because you’re able to.
I am Elizabeth Fleenor and the reason that I want to go to the Oregon Association of Student Councils conference is because I think it can really benefit my leadership skills and it will be really fun to go on a trip with my classmates. Leaders need to have the ability to inspire and be confident about it and I think I can improve my inspirational confidence skills. A leader needs to have the ability to inspire, find confidence, be responsible, and trust themselves as well as their peers and going to the OASC conference will befit me with these skill set. I want to help with the betterment of my school; RPA and my community of Redmond and in the future the world. Going to this conference I hope will help teach me the life skills that I
I would appreciate being a part of the Yearbook crew. I have some relatives that have been in the Wildcat Yearbook team, and from their experiences, I know that I will enjoy having Yearbook as my elective.
Building blocks are an essential part of growing up. From a young age, many children are given a wide assortment of building blocks with which they learn how to assemble a variety of creations. As students grow and mature, this concept of several small parts coming together to form a whole is expressed in many ways. In English, students are taught how nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs come together to create a complete, coherent sentence. Science classes educate about the plants, animals, organisms, and environment that fashion the ecosystems composing our world. Yet students are not always taught the necessary building blocks to form a team - this is something they must learn on their own. The parts that compose a team are very different
Firstly, I feel like it would be a great opportunity to meet dedicated students like myself, and connect with people from different backgrounds. Meeting a new, diverse group of people will help me to expand my horizons culturally. At my current school Palmer Trinity, I am a member of the Student Diversity Council. The council helps the school overall become more accepting and inclusive, and has helped me learn about other people and their
Today I attended the Student Education Association Conference opening with the keynote speaker Lori Thompson and the Autism Spectrum, Interviewing 101 with Steve Horrell, and Block to First Year Teaching Q&A with Sarah Saenz, Elizabeth Parker, Montana Rice, & MaryBeth Stewart. I learned a lot throughout the day and got to ask all the questions that went unanswered or I never thought of. Overall, I found this conference informational and put on perfectly by those who put the time in to make in all happen.
One major event I was excited to attend with the Phi Theta Kappa was a volunteer trip to Marklund, an organization that provides services to people with developmental disabilities. I was inspired to participate in this event because I enjoy be able to touch other people’s lives and make a personal connection with them. I believe this would have been a good learning experience for me. However, because of my academic class schedule, I was not able to join my team members. Being a member of the Phi Theta Kappa organization and its service opportunities allows me to engage with other notable leaders willing to impact and make a difference in the community. While my schedule is comprised of studying , attending classes and hosting events for Womyn
Welcome to the 8th grade student led conference. Today, I will talk about important improvements I have made this year and goals I have for high school.
Some people may see convention as a vacation; others may see it as a way to meet sisters from different parts of the country. Although, it is both of those things, I see it as an opportunity to further my connection within
Some clubs, learning communities or professional organizations that were discussed previously at the kickoff event that relate specifically to my program are the Canyon Business Club, and American Marketing Association. Regarding the likelihood of joining one of these clubs, it is likely that I will join both if I have enough spare time that permits it. The club/organization that peeked my interest the most and will be the first one I prioritize is the American Marketing Association. Marketing is my major, so I want to learn as much as I can about my future field, so that I can better myself for my career. This is possible through the American Marketing Association, for it helps those who join by providing resources such as training, and conferences
I feel that because of my global background I could contribute to the program in a way that is unique. I think that living and being a part of many different cultures has allowed me to have a view of the world that is different from others. Involvement in the Freshman Leadership Experience and Student Government Association would allow me to grow as a person while making the 2015-2016 school year memorable for myself and others. I want this school year to be the best for everyone and I feel that because of my ability to understand people of many cultures I would perform well at the tasks presented under the purpose of the SGA. Student life is one thing I love to be a part of because it is able to unite the many who attend Virginia Tech.
Because I'm a student at this college, this is a very important feature. Therefore, the goal of that event is to attract communication arts students to be active members of
