I am very interested in entrepreneurship and digital start-ups; technology and business are two passions of mine. This amazing opportunity to see innovation taking place would really inspire me; I myself am on Stemettes’ Outbox Incubator, following on from reaching the top 20 out of 730 entries in the iDEA competition. I want to grow my own business *training myself using the DBA*: so far I have received investment, won office space and got mentors. Shadowing Abby Barton would provide an invaluable insight into Wayra, an organisation that I highly admire and would love to be involved with in future.
I’m always fascinated by the stories of successful entrepreneurs such as Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba and Elon Musk the founder of Tesla and Space X. It is not only because of they are famous but also because they found their investors who contribute to their success and have the right to take part of it. The curiosity of finance drags me into the field of commerce and investment. Finance, a comprehensive study, requires the ability of mathematics and understanding of the economic environments which are my two favorite subjects since I was in year 11. I got my first chance to access to the field of finance in 2017 through two internships: at China Everbright Bank and Nuoyuan Holdings, a subsidiary of Hanfor Holdings. Getting to
As a former student, you will remember that Bow Valley organises informative meetings for students throughout the year. Our first meeting is coming up on September 22 and I have been asked to find a keynote speaker for the event; I believe you would be the perfect candidate. You will have the opportunity to inform students about how you were able to start and develop your own business, and how you applied what you learned at school to have it become so successful. Aside from your speech, I believe
Alana: Yes, I have some contacts here and in New York from my business days that would love to help launch any programs.
In Elie Wiesel’s autobiography Night, Wiesel matures through his suffering of World War II as a young teenage boy. His faith and view of his father undergo many changes as a cause of his struggles. Through these transformations, Wiesel communicates the ideas that (faith change/loss theme) and that tragedy can bring people closer. Before arriving at the concentration camp, Elie is faithful and has a strong belief in God.
The lunch room microphone turns on.. BAM. Pizza Friday! The day that brings lunch tables together regardless of past conflicts or bickering. This seemingly insignificant event has become the most important part of the Anderson Achievers program. Many people I wouldn’t normally interact with have become close friends to me through small interactions, such as Pizza Friday. Anderson Achievers may not be changing the world, but it’s still a neat program.

A long time friend once said, “Jonah, Tulane is the best place on earth. Please look into it.” With that recommendation in hand and my avid Googling abilities, I began my journey. Within an hour of my first search, I thought WOW…. They have it all! Throughout High School “The writers’ café” has been a way of expressing my thoughts. I am unwilling to lose this release, and I was pleased to find “The Tulane Free Press” to be my solution. Also, undergrad entrepreneurship is something that has always fascinated me. Tulane of course has that covered with “Start Up Tulane.” I would like to do entrepreneurial research and development, while honing in on my innovative side and this club atmosphere is just right for team building and product development.

I have learned the importance of all members working together to not just gain experience but to take our passions to be a successful team. I want to do the unthinkable and combine my two passions, technology and agriculture to provide a common ground. My plans are to utilize technology to enhance the FFA program through applications, graphic designs, and video production. I want to be an Area Officer to reach out and be a servant leader to not only Area VIII but to tell others the message of the FFA and develop practical and exciting solutions in agriculture through technology. I have already utilized my technology skills in my local chapter by keeping our TV online which tells the members important dates and information. I believe, team work, communication, and positive encouragement are the three components in order to have a successful project. My passion for technology has played a key role and has complimented my efforts in all that I strive for in the FFA. Every competition I have competed in may not have won every time, but I’ve never been defeated in my passion because I was guided by wonderful encouragers of the FFA to never give
Toby and I literally built this organization from an idea.. We first had him write a proposal, which was like 13 pages and all over the place. We did extensive research. We cut him down to 6 pages and zero in on specific components of the program that we thought would be most feasible and impactful. We made his website, created his logo, and acquired an intern for him. We currently have dialogue currently going with SNV, we'll be partnering with them.

When I entered the band hall for the first time over six years ago, I instantly fell in love. I had heard so much about band from my older brother, and I wanted follow in his footsteps. Originally, I had three choices for what instrument I could play, flute, clarinet, and oboe, which was a decision that would determine what I would stick with for the next 7 years. I knew I couldn’t play clarinet because I wanted to choose a different path than my brother, and I turned down oboe because it was one of the more advanced instruments. So with flute as my default, I began on my musical journey that would last all throughout high school. Right off the bat, I was an extremely determined player, I practiced and practiced sometimes even more than I did
