“After high school, I enrolled in a digital marketing program. I worked in sales for a while, became bored, and realized it wasn’t the right career for me. I considered pursuing law enforcement. I thought it would be the right fit for me because I wanted to work with other people who have similar interests and I had a longstanding interest in protecting people from

When my class had those career classes there was always somebody from law enforcement talking there. I do still remember what one Sheriff talked about Sheriff's job and I kind of liked it right away. I went home and did some research on Sheriff's Department and I liked what I saw. Now, years have passed and I still do have passion for this job, to serve the country. I have been living in the City since my birth, never been in country-side actually and now I feel this is the oppurtunity to widen my knowledge about Red County. I am ready to learn to remember every corner by its name. I have always loved bodybuilding and training my body overall and I know if hired by San Andreas Sheriff's Department I can continue doing something I love, training.
With graduation drawing near I am excited and ready to put my Agricultural Science degree to use in an industry that I am extremely passionate about. Throughout my time at Cal Poly, I have been working for the San Luis Obispo Police Department as a Student Neighborhood Assistant Program Officer. Before I began working at San Luis Obispo Police Department I had always planned on a career in law enforcement, but with graduation quickly approaching I am not certain that is the career path I am meant to take especially with the public's perspective of peace officers today. I can say that during my time with the San Luis Obispo Police Department, I have gained an immense amount of skills through first hand experiences such as organization, leadership,

Growing up is exciting and very scary. Being young is fun while it last but eventually everyone has to grow and go in to the working field. Law enforcement has been a big topic whether it be bad or good things said the law enforcement is always brought up. When I was young I took a fast interest in business. The moment I decided I wanted to be a cop was when I met my dad’s best friend that was a cop, and businessman. All any person wants in a career is to make a decent living and do something that they enjoy doing. I’ve always enjoyed helping people that needed help, the Kansas career pipeline let me take some surveys and showed me that I enjoy helping people more than I enjoy building myself something, which I believe that is true.
The current Mission Statement of the Jackson Police Department is to improve the quality of life for its citizens and to reduce the problems associated with crime. They want to educate the officers and public and develop a co-active partnership with the community. They endeavor to be honest, fair, impartial, courteous, and respectful. I must admit I was shocked to see this as their mission. (JPD, unknown). After reading the mission for Madison, Wisconsin I can say that I was proud of their police department and could see myself living in a city where the police strive to give its citizen high-quality police services. They also stated that giving all of its citizens respect and dignity and for me, that sounds like key elements that all police

Over the past two years I have continuously studied and worked within the criminal justice field. My studies from Vincennes University varied within the field of criminal justice and at times pertained to corrections. Working as a Campus Safety Officer gave me experience with a variety of people and personalities. During my time as a Campus Safety Officer I was educated on defensive tactics, pepper ball training, hand-to-hand combat, OC pepper spray, and Monadnock expandable baton training. I have excellent communication skills and am able to keep calm during stressful situations.
After three in a half years of serving in the United States’ Army, I had decided to leave the service. I returned home to St. Petersburg, Florida where I enrolled in St. Petersburg College. After, obtaining my Associates’ degree from SPC, I transferred to the University of South Florida where I studied for my bachelor’s degree in criminology. After one semester at USF, I had decided that I needed to get some experience under my belt, because I knew that a four year degree would not necessarily guarantee me a respectable career. Originally, I wanted to join the St. Petersburg Police Department. They seemed to have a much diversified agency, and I felt comfortable with the area because I was born and raised in St. Petersburg. There I was putting on my tie, brushing my hair and shining my shoes, I was preparing to meet with the St. Petersburg’s Assistant Police Chief in the morning.
Law enforcement is a career that is both violent and rewarding in many capacities. Justice needs to be served in law enforcement and they have a responsibility to uphold the law and serve the people in the community. Law enforcement is crucial in the world today as a global realm as life continues to be more complex and law enforcement struggles to combat many aspects of crime. In order to combat these problems and have a positive future in the criminal justice system, everyone must work together on a bigger scale.
At first I thought I wanted to be a Doctor like my brother Joey, to save people who were dying and cure illnesses. But after taking Biology I realized that human anatomy and blood weren’t my strong suit. My sister Katy is going to become a dermatologist and has wanted to ever since our mom was diagnosed with melanoma in 2008. Her career choice was very personal since a few years later she had a cancerous mole on her leg, but I just didn’t feel the same connection to dermatology the she did. I then thought about going into law enforcement like my brother Cory, although I knew that I didn’t want to be a sheriff like my brother, law enforcement was the only career option that has ignited a spark within me, a spark that I didn’t fully consider until I combined it with my love of psychology, my career choice then flourished from a spark to an
Many people studying in the field of Criminal Justice should choose their career carefully. There are many interesting careers that are arising as the years pass by. To become a successful employee you need to be able to fulfill many requirements, qualifications, and trainings.
As a child, I always wanted a career enforcing the law. Weather it was with the police department or criminal justice was undecided at that time. As I grew older I pulled more to the fence of criminal justice. Simply because I do not like the way the system is set up.
I would like to be enrolled in the law enforcement program as I would like to gain more knowledge about the background, applied skills, and specialized knowledge that a law enforcement occupation would acquire. This program would also allow me to gain exposure to various criminal justice careers and would benefit me and my future goals of becoming a police officer, as I see myself upholding the law. I also have the motivation and drive of keeping the people around me and my surroundings safer, while dealing with unexpected situations. The Justice Institute would allow me to achieve the greatest output of work and obtain hands on experience and awareness of the criminal justice system, showcasing what a law enforcement related field is like.
The job itself shows a lot of determination and willpower to continue a legacy of an investigator. But no matter the case, I’m sure that I will fulfill any part that I need to at any given moment. The career is something that I know I will never get bored of. Well of course keep me interested every day. However, would also make my life more interesting known everyday i could be dealing with something different as in cases.. As always, every job will be difficult times, but I hope that I never feel the need to give up and that my motivation of helping others continues through lost criminal cases and more. Also, I hope that I do not settle for less and continue going up the law enforcement field and achieve goals each and every year for the career. This would always keep me on my toes and I know that it can help me try to keep going up. If I ever decided to switch careers i hope that i let it still be in the criminal/ law field. With this being said the ladder to receive this job will require me to successfully finish school with a prospering degree, always staying vigilant and keep moving forward, and enjoyed every little thing I can from the career. It would be a great experience to learn from and grow from also. But I hope I keep going up the ladder of success and settle to a hierarchy. Ending my essay I have to ask, Am I ready to take the next leap of faith that is called adulthood? We will see as time goes by and I grow as an adult that is striving for a better life and receives a well off career in a nice state/
