Hello everyone!
I am a fourth year at SDSU majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. My three emphasis are Theatre, Psychology, and Biology which may see strange, but those are my passions. I intend to go to medical school after I graduate from SDSU and one day become a pediatrician . I have been in three plays at SDSU in addition to a few films and will be in a play this semester. Another one of my big commitments is Campus Outreach, which is a college ministry on campus where I am one of the women leaders.
Outside of school I work two jobs. One is Tapioca Express, which is down the street from SDSU, in addition to being a part time nanny to four amazing children. I enjoy doing yoga in my free time and bought an ARC membership for that reason
My intended major is Sociology. Once I earn my degree I intend to find a career in either social work or teaching. In choosing social work my focus will be low income families and programs that decrease social inequality. As a child I yearned for the ability to help people, to change someone’s life for the better and give them back the strength and hope they have lost through life’s battles. I gained this eagerness to provide assistance when my parents brought me to their homeland of Guatemala. Guatemala is a very poor country and I saw the despair and hopelessness of many while others still strived every day to elevate the lives of their family amidst poverty.
Theatre has always been my passion. Nobody told me to pursue theatre, it was a choice that I made my freshman year. I knew I had a fondness for singing, so I figured theatre would be a good opportunity for me to participate at a new school. After being one of two Freshmen chosen to be in the musical, I knew I had something special. I continued pursuing performing, and I became infatuated with getting up on stage and performing for crowds. I plan on pursuing a BFA in Theatre Performance to further educate myself and to give hope to young girls and boys who are told they won't make it doing what they love. This is my main goal, and I would also be able to give people this hope by teaching children! So I am going to double major in theatre performance while also pursuing an MST in
My major is Biology Pre-Med. I chose this particular major because I eventually want to become a doctor. The thing I like about this field is I like helping people; I want to save as many lives as possible.
I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a double major in Political Science and Public Policy. After starting out college unsure of what I wanted to major in, I finally found my passions in education and international affairs through my majors.
I am a sophomore at Liberty University located in Virginia. I am currently enrolled in the Interdisciplinary studies degree plan. As a child, my mother was a nurse who is deeply involved in her religion which is Christianity. She was my role model and I admired her dedication. I believed that I was religious, hardworking and dedicated just like my mother. My mother wanted me to be a nurse and to attend nursing school. In high school, I went to a school that mainly focused on the nursing curriculum outside of the basic high school leveled courses. However, after experiencing my time in the nursing courses throughout high school I did not seem to be very interest in that career. I wanted to be a lawyer, psychiatrist, or Business manager in Information

I am a transfer student at California State University, Long Beach and my major is Human Development with a concentration in social and personality development. I enjoy volunteering to work with isolated senior citizens and at the Orange County Food Bank in Garden Grove. Giving back to my community and being successful in school goes hand in hand for me. With all my heart, I believe that a higher education will allow me to reach out and do more for the individuals in my community and to mold me as a responsible member of society.
I will be majoring neuroscience and minoring in creative writing, which is an odd combination, but it adequately reflects my eclectic personality.
I am majoring in psychology, with the aspiration of earning a Ph.D. At my core, I am a "people person," which I define as someone who is invested in the human condition in all its varieties. I have a particular love for literature, philosophy, and stand-up comedy. Nothing brings me greater than making someone laugh. Ultimately, I want to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Through Phi Theta Kappa, I can achieve my goals, develop lifelong friendships, and experience personal growth.
The diversity of VCU is a significant quality that attracts me to the school. When I first started considering schools, I was primarily looking into Historically Black Colleges and Universities. During this time period I was not only considering HBCUs but I was also considering the programs that each schools had to offer. My choices for consideration varied greatly as I began to really think about my future and career path and I stumbled across Virginia Commonwealth University. Virginia Commonwealth University had the exact program and area of study that I was looking for in a college.

When I first began my schooling here at Northwest Missouri State University, I was a biology/psychology major with the intention of going to medical school. From there, I would become a certified speech therapist. Quickly, I realized that I was not happy with my classes, and did not get excited when I was talking about my
