This letter is in regards to my interest in applying for the District Training Specialist position with Buckeye Partners, L.P. I know my experience in education, health care, and information technology would be a valuable addition to your organization in this role. I believe I would excel in this position because I possess a natural passion for educating, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.

1. Public school districts in urban areas face unreasonable obstacles to providing a quality education for low-income students. A funding mix of federal, state, and local funds can lead to many urban districts receiving less funding per student than suburban districts. Students in urban districts need more resources due to significantly lower household incomes and household education levels. Many cities face an increasing number of for profit charter schools that reduce student population without providing a higher quality education. State funding in Ohio severely penalizes districts with shrinking populations, so the rising number of charter schools hurts public districts. The best way to tackle this issue is to change state education funding to help districts that need it the most. After watching this interview, I feel that a well defined leadership purpose statement is the distinction between a good leader and a great leader. Carolyn McKnight’s interview on leadership purpose statements really opened my eyes to the power of these statements, and the time and energy one needs to put into creating a leadership purpose statement. At first it seemed that completing a statement this powerful would be a very daunting task. After watching Mrs. McKnight’s interview, I am confident in my ability to come up with a statement, and that I will have the courage to follow through with it.

I am writing to express my interest in the Graduate Assistantship position with CSET Advising Center at Minnesota State, Mankato. I recognize and value the importance that a graduate assistantship has, in terms of the educational and professional benefits. It is my hope that, as a graduate student to take this role of graduate assistant for both personal as well as professional experience.

The reason I want to study for a PhD (concentration in Strategy, International Management and Entrepreneurship) is that I have a passion for research, and wish to pursue a career that would enable the creation and dissemination of knowledge in this field. Though I started my undergraduate research exposure in the field of bioscience, the opportunity to study courses such as microeconomics, management, psychology and entrepreneurship during my second BS at Rutgers University as a Fulbright-PLUS scholar helped me rethink about the field in which I would wish to make my future contributions. Then, during my Master’s, I worked on a dissertation analyzing the liberalized pharmacy market in Sweden after the deregulation of the pharmacies in 2009. The experience of the Master’s dissertation along with different modules in
