For as long as I can remember I have been interested in the field of medicine. My journey in nursing began when I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and then went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). I continued my education earning an Associate's degree and now will be graduating with my Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) in April of 2013. I hope to begin working on my Masters of Science/Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN/FNP) in May.
My core values have been shaped by my experiences. Foremost I believe caring is central to everything I do. I believe in promoting health, healing and hope in response to the human condition. I value my personal integrity, which is respecting the dignity and moral wholeness of every person without limitations or conditions. Every person is unique and I respect the differences among individual's ideas, values, and ethnicities. I pride myself in striving for excellence in all things I do.
On a personal level nursing is my way of giving back to society. I enjoy helping others. I appreciate that the recipient of nursing care is not limited to just the patient; family, friends, clergy, and other members of the health care team are all recipients of the care being given by the nurse.
