Sample Statement of Purpose: MBA The term “globalism” has become overused, and often misused. In fact, we might say that it has actually been devalued to the level of the everyday language of buzzword-brandishing marketing pundits. Such freewheeling usage has perhaps prompted many a CEO (or future CEO) to launch into a global plan or strategy without proper consideration of the demands and dynamics of the international marketplace. Many would-be globetrotters neglect the acquisition of language skills, knowledge of foreign trade and tax laws, accounting standards, etc., all of which are necessary to effectively “go global.” Superficial knowledge only leads to failure. This has, indeed, happened, and while there is no doubt that neglecting …show more content…
The now-ending world recession in tandem with rapidly increasing global competition (both of which, incidentally, have prompted a restructuring of US industry) has forced European governments to strongly consider more open markets. That’s also nothing new. However, it seems that the recession was not long 1 enough to force a concurrent inward reflection amongst European business leaders. As a result, many European private sector entities have maintained their bureaucratic habits, but ultimately face increased competition in their own domestic markets. Unfortunately for them, they are losing and should continue to lose (the recent utter domination of US investment banks in Germany over the long-standing domestic “superbanks” as a result of the recent liberation of the financial markets is a case in point). This is, obviously, an opportunity. As more and more Europeans continue their tradition of bureaucracy management, there will be an ever-increasing demand for US-trained business operators (who, by the way, traditionally perform well in laizes fairre market environments) as more and more international companies (US and non-US) move into Europe. My objective is to capitalize on this opportunity. However, just from simple observation, I have discovered that an MBA provides a distinct advantage over those without. There is an analytical nature inherent to MBA’s which I believe is duplicable only by committing two years to the academic study of business. And, in light
I am a hardworking, outgoing and self-motivated high school student. The program I have applied for is business accounting. I am convinced that I possess a unique blend of skills that will enable me to successfully complete this program. To begin with, I am quite comfortable working with figures. I regard my love for figures to have come by default. From a very young age my dad who happens to be a mathematics professor saw to it that I developed the necessary analytical capabilities through regular coaching. Hence I have over time developed great passion for analytical subjects including business accounting. I regard my being comfortable with figures an essential skill that will help me succeed in this particular program. Further, I have also been an avid reader of financial magazines and journals. In that regard, I possess significant knowledge on the workings of business. This I will combine with my liking for figures to enhance my chances of success in this particular program.
Hopefully, I will be able to continue my education in 2016 spring semester at Queens College. It will be a fantastic experience for me to meet outstanding professors and make new friends who share same interests. I will be a more mature musician and a person as I spend more time at the college. Queens College will definitely help me to build a firm foundation for the future and get closer to my goal and this is why I desperately want to be a part of the
I wouldn’t be doing philosophy if I didn’t think it progressed, and that we know now more than we did a century ago. For that reason, I don’t view its history as a story of the clash of defensible but irreconcilable views, from which the most we can expect is a sympathetic understanding of how things looked to the participants. “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest,” once said by Benjamin Franklin, is a quote that is very important to me. If educational opportunities are taken seriously, the knowledge gained is invaluable. Throughout my years at Darlington High School, I have been very focused on my college education, including being a part of the Youth Options program at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.
I found my passion for arts administration as a sophomore in college. Growing up, music had always played a big part in my life. I had always thought that I would become a music teacher. However, when I accepted an internship position in the summer of 2015 working for the renowned Handel and Haydn Society in Boston, my plans changed. Suddenly, the idea of working behind the scenes, and operating an arts organization excited me immensely. As I found internships working for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Jazz House Kids and Little Kids Rock, I became fixated on the business aspect of the arts. Planning and executing various performances, fundraising events and educational programs was exciting and gratifying, which led me to decide to pursue a career in arts administration and attend graduate school. I decided that attending the University of Cincinnati was the best option for me because of its academic rigor and because it offers a program in which I can earn my MA and MBA in Arts Administration. I believe pursuing an MBA would be an excellent opportunity for me to gain the educational experience needed to excel in this field.
I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Soon following, I worked through Teach for America as an educator to help bring educational equity and excellence to under resourced schools. I aspire to influence students’ lives by helping local governments and nonprofit agencies fulfill their mission through research, data, and best practices. Eventually, I seek to impact policy as a research analyst for the National Center for Education Statistics.
I am very interested in the Engineering Analyst positon you have displayed on your website. I am a senior at Texas A&M University; I will be graduating this May with a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. Ever since I was born, I have understood what the business world was. Whenever I had a day off of school, my dad would take me to his work. I would learn how to cash checks, write money orders, and turn in utility bills. One thing that my dad was also very active in what trading stocks. Through my dad’s influence, I began trading stocks when I was eleven, and I started an Investments Club at my high school junior year. Through these early experiences, I have realized that my professional goal is to work in business, and I can think of no better program for preparation than The Wisconsin School of Business at Madison.
I have been preparing to pursue an MBA since my senior year of college. It was during my senior year that I was first introduced to marketing. I had a chance to work with some of the directors of marketing for Georgia Tech and Georgia Tech Athletics. I saw firsthand how they developed strategies and had a chance to participate in some of their digital marketing initiatives. I started researching how the statistics and analytical work I was learning in my undergraduate degree could be used in marketing. I knew that after working for a few years I would pursue an MBA in marketing focusing on analytics and research.
I am very excited to enter a MBA program that will allow me to focus on my interest in healthcare management as well as provide career possibilities and exposure to resources. My academic objective is to receive a MBA with a concentration in healthcare management. I believe that my education and work experience have provided me with a great introduction to healthcare. Within my experience I have gained an interest in management. I believe that a Carlow University MBA is necessary to gain a broader understanding of management and to sharpen my analytical skills in order to be successful.
The vision that I have for my future and career is a positive one. I started my MBA program at GCU with a positive attitude, determination to stay in the program and complete it successfully. My desire and vision after I complete my program is to take up a new challenge of starting my own small business in the area of non-medical Care Giving Services. This business will give me a great deal of opportunities to utilize all that I’ve learnt throughout my program. Through the small business that I’m looking to set up, I will have the opportunity to offer quality Care Giving Services to clients who have disabilities of one form or another. Not all clients get the quality care that they deserve in the care giving business, so I will focus on rendering loving and compassionate care that will make life easier for our clients. The services rendered and our core values will be in the best interest of the clients.
When professional peers are all on a level playing field, how do you differentiate yourself? My military background showcases abundant roles of leadership and responsibility, however, companies across the globe are now hiring Veterans more than ever. Any advantage my Army experience would have leveraged could potentially be comparable to another Veteran applicant interviewing for the role I want. Earning an MBA is the difference maker. I believe that the advanced education gained with an MBA from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will allow me to set myself apart from the crowd and succeed in roles of greater responsibility.

What is life? Why do people look different? These are questions that I eager to know answers since I was young. When I view the characteristics of people, I usually think that some traits are inherited, whereas others are caused by environmental factors. For human diseases, I would like to know the relative contributions of genetics and the environment. Is a disease caused by a pathogenic microorganism, a toxic agent in the environment, or a faulty gene? My interest in molecular biology has been inspired by these questions and led me to the world of genetics.
