When I studied power electronic circuits such as: ac to dc uncontrolled and controlled rectifiers, voltage controllers, converters, dc to ac inverters and power supplies, I decided to build my career on “Power Systems and Power Electronics” which prompted me to take more core courses and lab works in electrical and electronics filed such as Control Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, Advanced Electronics and Communications. I also took several courses on: Electromagnetic (ETE 361), Semiconductors (ETE 411) and VLSI Design (CSE 435) to achieve a comprehensive knowledge over my aspired field. Today an electrical engineer needs to be conversant both at software and hardware levels. So I took programming language courses on C, Java and Database management with projects. Profuse availability of research works and projects in my desired fields in Michigan Technological University is the foremost reason to apply in this institution.
As one of the greatest American inventors Charles F. Kettering said, “There is a great difference between knowing and understanding: you can know a lot about something and not really understand it”. I realized that the knowledge I acquired from undergraduate studies was only a small part of the entire Electrical and Electronic Engineering and I have to go a long way for
After completing my bachelors , I worked as an Design engineer in the field of Electrical where I was able to implement knowledge which I had gained from my Bachelors of Engineering. When I realized that my bachelor’s knowledge and skill was not able to address new problems, I decide to pursue my masters in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
My curiosity and drive allowed me to succeed in high school and in my undergraduate studies at Siena Heights University. While completing my Bachelor of the Arts Degree I had the opportunity to take a variety of different courses ranging
My desire to be an integral part of this process of betterment motivated me to choose engineering as my career. A natural aptitude for mathematics, good analytical ability, tenacity and high academic credentials helped me secure admission for undergraduate studies at Sreenivasa Institute of Technology and Management Studies affiliated to JNTU University, one of the most prestigious universities in India. My diligent efforts led me to realize my dream of being an Electronics and Communication Engineer.
First and foremost, I would like to express gratitude to NLDC, Power System Operation Corporation Ltd (POSOCO) for providing me a magnificent opportunity in the form of this dissertation to learn.
Electronics Communications is an industry that has changed our lives. In a very short period it has changed the way we have looked at things since centuries. It is one industry that is going to shape our future for centuries to come. Hence my desire to do masters in electrical engineering with communications as my major .My interest in Electrical dates back the early days of my high
The first decade of 21st century will be remembered for the incredible advancement in the electronics. A decade ago there were televisions which occupied a large table whereas the present day flat screen LCD or LED televisions can be hung to a wall. The desktops are replaced by laptops and which in turn are replaced most recently by the tablets. This reduction in the size of electronic gadgets with increase in working efficiency over the years amazed me. Hence naturally, I grew up with a passion towards this field and this passion led me to choose Electronics and Communication Engineering as my undergrad course. The field of electrical & electronics engineering has always fascinated me. I picked up the rudiments of electronics field and electrical engineering. My interest started developing in the early stage of my life, when I studied about the invention of computers, moreover about its large size. The transformation from the large size to small palmtops enticed me to know about the factors that are responsible for making computers, also the electronic gadgets so small. I was taken aback after seeing a small chip for the first time in my school days, furthermore when it came to my knowledge that this single chip contains more than 1000 transistors, it really became impossible for me to believe, “integrated circuits” was the answer I received, but wasn’t able to penetrate the fundamentals of it. From then, everyday I come across with small circuits
From my child hood my surrounding makes me interested on different kind of tools, uses of electricity and their basic theorem, different mechanical combination. From my high school, I have an enthusiasm for science and mathematics. I used to read different science magazine, from which I always tried to acquire as much knowledge as possible. After finishing my college education with good result I set my aim to be an engineer and admitted in to Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh
The power flow analysis involves the calculations of power flows and voltages of a transmission network for specified terminal or bus condition. Such calculations are required for the analysis of steady-state as well as dynamic performance of power systems [1].
Scientific methodology, analysis and reasoning has had a significant impact in shaping my approach and developing a different learning aptitude towards academics; this soon flourished into a more specific interest in science. I got interested in electronics during my high school years itself when I was introduced to the topic of Circuit Theory in Physics. Hence to pursue undergraduate studies in a reputed college of engineering of India with electronics as my major became an obvious choice for me. Determined to go after the same, I prepared myself for the fierce competition. Two years of focused preparation fetched me a position in the top 0.3% among 1 million potential candidates in the national level engineering entrance examination- All
I find resonance in the words of Nikola Tesla, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration”. Change is what defined my childhood. My father is with the Indian Army and we moved to a new city every two years. In India, where language, food and culture change every hundred miles, I completed my education in several schools and under diverse settings. My curiosity to work in situations where 'nobody knows anything ', and build up everything from scratch led me to pursue Engineering. Since automation, digitization and convergence of technology are today central to all streams of engineering, I decided to opt for Electronics and Communications Engineering for under graduation. This stream enabled me to apply my knowledge to build different applications in any field, and the courses served in refining my understanding about the subject making me keenly appreciative of the subtleties in this field.
Although, it is invisible but it is something real and substantial. As a power engineer, I’ll be helping to guarantee electricity supply to keep businesses and households going – allowing everyone to do what they have to do and importantly, do what they want to do. Power Engineers help to shape the future. Clean energy sources, smart grid, energy efficiency and electric vehicles are some of the promising areas that depend on new technology designed by power and energy engineers. Pursuing my interest, I have also worked in Goldwind Co. Ltd, where I designed algorithms for the fault detection in wind turbines, which was verified by the company and is installed in a big wind farm near
I chose to take Electronics & Communications Engineering at NITAP – Yupia, a premiere institute of our country. During the course work, I took courses like Principle of Communication, Signals and Systems, Digital Electronics, Telecommunication engineering, Digital Signal Processing, Wireless and Mobile Communication immensely, the latter to a greater degree. I unswervingly took upon the courses purely based on its intellectual derivatives, unmindful of an examination point of view. Thus, I have every reason to have confidence in the fundamentals, especially in the field of Communication Engineering. I took my
This was the first time hearing about how electricity works, at the time I was almost a junior in high school and was very interested in learning why we had never covered this subject in class. It seemed like an important thing to know, a substance what everyone uses and is even found in nature, but something that we never covered. I had no idea what a current or voltage was or how they worked together, let alone I know nothing about the digital side of it, things like a logic gate and jk flip flops sounded like something out of a science fiction movie. It was not until I started my college career that started to dive into the electrical world. To me at the time, the public school system seemed a little flawed, you could take classes on other careers such as business and economics, but the drastically increasing field of electronica’s was absent. It was not until you took classes that were designed around electronics that you would hear about them.
Seattle University’s Catalog for Electrical Engineering Major is simply divided into three modules. The first one is ‘Engaging Academic Inquiry’. In this module, students are expected to focus more on the core academic courses and how to achieve accomplishments and maintain good grades.
