Fatal fires usually began before the actual fire ever starts. On February 20, 2003 The Station Night Club had a tragic fire. In this case, it started when the co-manager of the Station Night Club purchased cheap sound proof foam which was not fire retardant. The fire retardant, sound proof foam would have been very expensive to purchase and install. The Night Club main frame was primarily wood which fed most of the fire. The pyrotechnics that the band “Great White” used is what ignited the foam which then moved to the wood paneling. This fire took the lives of 100 people. Building a structure safely is the first step in preventing fires. Suppression and detection systems are the next. The Night Club did not have either one. The night club
The Local, State and Federal agencies were called to investigate the Station Nightclub fire incident and they found many issues. The polyurethane foam that was on the interior walls was the major factor in the Station Nightclub fire. It was easily ignited and also contributed to a faster fire spread within the building. According to NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, the interior finish is required to be Class A or B for general assembly areas with occupant loads of more than 300. It has been calculated that the number of occupants at the Station Nightclub was around 440-458 people, obviously well over this limit. The ignition of polyurethane foam gave out a magnitude of smoke and heat in such a short period of time and created mass chaos, thus resulting in a crowd-wide panic towards the initial entry point. Also NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, section 13.2.3.6.1 states that the main entrance/exit shall be of a width that accommodates one-half of the total occupant load and shall be at the level of exit discharge or shall connect to a stairway or ramp leading to a street. If the owner of The Station Nightclub would have
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911 was one of the most lethal workplace tragedies in American history. 141 young women died that day, because of their unsafe work conditions. If they had fire extinguishers and a sprinkler system, or even just a better fire escape, no one would’ve had to die. The girls did not have access to these things however, because they were not required by law.
One of the main reasons why so many people died in the fire was because of the lack of regulations for buildings. For instance, the fire escape was too weak to hold large amounts of people and it collapsed, killing everyone on it. Some were even impaled by a metal fence down below. In addition to the weakness of the fire escape, it wasn’t even long enough to reach the ground safely. Regulations
During this investigation, I will be analyzing the aftermath of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire that occured in New York City on March 25, 1911. I will specifically be addressing the question, “To what extent did the Triangle Factory Fire of 1911 help give workers the reforms that they had already been demanding?”
On august 29th at 2:30 in the morning a fire broke out by highway 190, east of Springville. The cause of the Pier fire is human caused but is still under investigation; New research shows that humans are the cause of 84% of all wildfires. As of september 18 it has burnt 36,556 acres and is at 95% containment, the estimated containment date is september 20th 12:00 am. And at 10:00am september 18th Tulare County officials lifted all evacuation orders for the Pier Fire, and Highway 190 is now open to traffic. The communities that had mandatory evacuation where Sequoia Crest, Mountain Aire, Rogers Camp, Pierpoint Springs, Cedar Slope, Camp Nelson, Doyle Springs, Alpine Village and Wishon. But the civilians coming back to their homes still have to be aware of the danger still prevalent, such as falling trees and smoke inhalation.
The Triangle Factory fire not only affected the city of New York, but also the rest of the country. It will forever change the way our country looked at safety religions in factories and buildings. 146 people died in this fire, 123 women and 23 men most of the victims were Italian and Jewish and were immigrants that we're happy to be in America and to have freedom. No one knows how the fire started it could have been intentionally or accidentally.
In West Warwick Rhode Island, on February 20th, 2003, during the performance of the band Great White, a fire broke out that eventually claimed the lives of 100 people and injured an additional 200. The band’s tour manager arranged for, and ignited pyrotechnic props, large fireworks designed to display a shower of sparks. The sparks ignited foam soundproofing near stage. The fire spread quickly. Most were killed either in the crush to exit the building or overcome by fumes while trying to find an exit. The immediate cause was well documented due to witness reports and a videotape that was taken during the concert. In the period that followed the tragedy there were many attempts to fix blame. Following a Grand Jury

On October 8, 1871, the infamous Chicago Fire ignited. Although the origins remain unexplainable, the ending result left Chicago in a catastrophic mess. Roughly 300 people died and 17,450 buildings received mass amounts of damage during the fire. Over ⅓ of the city appeared lost in ruins and polluted rivers burst into flames. In addition, the city paid an estimated two hundred million dollars in repairs.
In the days after the fire, there were considerable efforts to assign and avoid blame on the part of the band, the nightclub owners, the manufacturers and distributors of the foam material and pyrotechnics, and
The Great Chicago Fire was a fire that kept growing and eventually burned a majority of Chicago. It destroyed over 40 acres of Chicago. Over 100,000 of the people living there were left homeless and around 300 people were killed. Around 17,500 buildings perished in the fire. The fire overall burned through about 4 acres of Chicago, taking out everything and most living things in its path.
The building was constructed in 1946, designed to be a nightclub. The same building had changed ownership and names numerous times, and had been incarnated as not just a nightclub but also a restaurant and pub. Exact numbers of occupants at the time of the fire is unknown, estimated to be between 440 to 458 persons. When the fire started at the Station Nightclub in West Warwick, Rhode Island, the venue was 100 people over capacity, but "even the legal number was based on a bogus standing-room formula," (Seligson, 2013). An estimated 450 people were inside when the fire occurred (FEMA, 2011).
The fire happened around midnight, and roughly 200 people were inside the Soundwave nightclub, which opened in 2003 and has never had an incident before. The two victims, David Gibson and Elizabeth Oxley, were died from smoke inhalation and most injuries were injured by trampling each other when the fire happened. Soundwave installed new ceiling fans one week ago, the police will investigate if the ceiling fans are the reason of the fire.
I watched the video and it is make me so sad because some mistakes placed a lot of people’s life in danger and died. In this video is not just one mistake it was more than one. Firstly, the largest mistake is how the regulator uses fireworks in pleas like that because the fire happened in few second and the cause was the fireworks. Secondly, how regulator allow a large of people to be in small club without preparation for the safety of the audience for example, there was just two exits and the other doors were closed and they do not have sprinkler system, it must be required to have one. A lot of people died because everybody tumbled each other pushed to the exits so if there more exits people can get out easier and
