Station Nightclub Fire I watched the video and it is make me so sad because some mistakes placed a lot of people’s life in danger and died. In this video is not just one mistake it was more than one. Firstly, the largest mistake is how the regulator uses fireworks in pleas like that because the fire happened in few second and the cause was the fireworks. Secondly, how regulator allow a large of people to be in small club without preparation for the safety of the audience for example, there was just two exits and the other doors were closed and they do not have sprinkler system, it must be required to have one. A lot of people died because everybody tumbled each other pushed to the exits so if there more exits people can get out easier and
The Local, State and Federal agencies were called to investigate the Station Nightclub fire incident and they found many issues. The polyurethane foam that was on the interior walls was the major factor in the Station Nightclub fire. It was easily ignited and also contributed to a faster fire spread within the building. According to NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, the interior finish is required to be Class A or B for general assembly areas with occupant loads of more than 300. It has been calculated that the number of occupants at the Station Nightclub was around 440-458 people, obviously well over this limit. The ignition of polyurethane foam gave out a magnitude of smoke and heat in such a short period of time and created mass chaos, thus resulting in a crowd-wide panic towards the initial entry point. Also NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, section 13.2.3.6.1 states that the main entrance/exit shall be of a width that accommodates one-half of the total occupant load and shall be at the level of exit discharge or shall connect to a stairway or ramp leading to a street. If the owner of The Station Nightclub would have
These are the survivors thoughts on the Triangle Factory Fire. There was over 100 survivors but I choose two of the most important people who lived from the fire and I am sharing their thoughts.
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911 was one of the most lethal workplace tragedies in American history. 141 young women died that day, because of their unsafe work conditions. If they had fire extinguishers and a sprinkler system, or even just a better fire escape, no one would’ve had to die. The girls did not have access to these things however, because they were not required by law.
At 2215 hrs, on November 28, 1942, Fire Alarm Headquarters from Box 1514, situated at Stuart and Carver streets, received an alarm. When the responding apparatus arrived they found a small car fire at the corner of Stuart Street and Broadway. After the fire was extinguished the firefighters were about to return to quarters when their attention was called to smoke emanating from the Cocoanut Grove Nightclub a few doors away. Upon their arrival at the entrance of the Broadway lounge on Broadway they encountered numerous people leaving the premises admidst the cries of “fire”. The chief in charge immediately ordered that a third alarm be sounded from Alarm Box 1521 which the alarm was received by fire alarm headquarters at 2223 hrs. A
In West Warwick Rhode Island, on February 20th, 2003, during the performance of the band Great White, a fire broke out that eventually claimed the lives of 100 people and injured an additional 200. The band’s tour manager arranged for, and ignited pyrotechnic props, large fireworks designed to display a shower of sparks. The sparks ignited foam soundproofing near stage. The fire spread quickly. Most were killed either in the crush to exit the building or overcome by fumes while trying to find an exit. The immediate cause was well documented due to witness reports and a videotape that was taken during the concert. In the period that followed the tragedy there were many attempts to fix blame. Following a Grand Jury

The building was constructed in 1946, designed to be a nightclub. The same building had changed ownership and names numerous times, and had been incarnated as not just a nightclub but also a restaurant and pub. Exact numbers of occupants at the time of the fire is unknown, estimated to be between 440 to 458 persons. When the fire started at the Station Nightclub in West Warwick, Rhode Island, the venue was 100 people over capacity, but "even the legal number was based on a bogus standing-room formula," (Seligson, 2013). An estimated 450 people were inside when the fire occurred (FEMA, 2011).
The Howard Street Tunnel fire that occurred on 18 July, 2001 was a serious emergency incident that had the potential to become a catastrophic incident. On the day in question 10 cars out of a 60 car freight derailed causing a significant hazardous material spill, a subsequent fire, and a water main bursting due to the heat. Since the incident involved multiple levels of agency response all three levels of government were involved, spending around $12 million to clean up, and repair damage. Fortunately there were no fatalities, but a number of people were treated for numerous chemical related afflictions at area hospitals. The city of Baltimore was mostly prepared for the incident, and quickly initiated the incident command system (ICS) within minutes of arriving on the scene of the emergency. Despite being mostly prepared for the emergency there were several areas where responding agencies could improve on.
To begin with, I believe that there was more than one conflicts in the story. The conflicts were man vs. nature, man vs. self, man vs. man, and man vs. society. Mattie acquired all of these conflicts throughout the novel. To describe the conflict of man vs. nature, it is explained that the fever had spread through the air and it was up to Mattie to save herself from the disease. She had to “fight” nature and protect herself from the heat as well as the fever until winter arrived. Mattie also fought with herself when she had to decide to give Nell up to the orphanage or keep her in her own hands. Mattie also shows man vs. society as she defended the intruders breaking in the coffeehouse. Man vs. man is explained in the novel when Mattie would argue about doing her chores and going to Polly’s funeral in the
In Jeannette Walls’s The Glass Castle, fire is utilized as a symbol of destruction that unmasks inattentive parenting. At only three years old a young Jeannette Walls learns to fend for herself by cooking her own hot dogs; little does she know that “yellow- white flames” are tracing a “ragged brown line up the pink fabric of [her] skirt and climb[ing] [her] stomach” (Walls 9). Hence, through the alarming personification of the fire “climbing” and tracing a line up Jeannette, the image of fire symbolizes the neglect that Jeannette and her siblings face while growing up. Therefore, due to this early dramatic experience Walls established a mood which strikes dread, pity, and horror into readers’ hearts.
The greatest lesson learned from this tragedy was the need for planned fire drills and accessible fire escapes. If the employers would have made it mandatory that all employees become familiar with the buildings layout, practice fire drills and know their closest fire escape, it would have aided the employees in the hour of despair. The biggest cause for death in this fire was a result of poor pre-fire planning. The building may be fire proof, but the people and contents inside are not.
For a long time in America’s many people of the LGBT+ community are continue being prosecuted for being who they are. To this day, there is still discrimination against the LGBT+ community because of America’s social norm that has been woven within our country's fabric. This is why Pulse nightclub was suppose to be a safe haven for people who are in the LGBT+ community. The audience needs to know that sometimes terrorism is when an act of violence is used to intimidate a particular group of people that are being decimated against.
In fact the society make it very dangerous for every fireman, traffic is a major hazard, highways, social media and their lack of sleep. This show an everyday the situation of a fireman because it 's been argued that the schedules in the fire department does not fit to the distance that they need to travel from home to work. In that regard, social media is becoming an hinderance when they get film and goes viral to the point that the firefighters personal privacy is exposed in the internet. Firefighters have been exposed more than usual when they are on duty, working or even just being out their work. While exploring into their field they seemed frustrate when every person that use the media to laugh at them when they try to
I chose to watch and review Mrs. Doubt fire. This is actually one of my favorite movies. I chose this movie for two reasons. The first reason being that I have seen it so many times and it just gave me a reason to watch it again ha ha. The second reason is because it really shows what a parent will go through to be near their family.
In addition to all the deaths and injuries, there was a 15 year old who decided he would put a basketball in gas and then the ball would be on fire. During that time he was going shot it, and later post it on Youtube. In addition to all that he was going to try to shoot a 3 pointer. Nothing went his way his clothes caught on fire, he was
