Hey lily,
I know you are nervous for basketball season
But there is no reason
You might feel anxious or worried
Don’t be, you’re the next Steph Curry
Take a shot and have no worries
If you get stressed take some deep breaths
Visualize the court
Be happy when you score
Say a prayer and shoot a three pointer
Set some goals so you can get better
I’ll be there to encourage you
Every game and every practice
The game was about to start, walking onto the court, warming up and getting ready for tip-off, I had a huge amount of confidence before hand. The game had begun, although, as the game went on, I wasn’t doing as well as I would have liked. It seemed like I couldn’t hit a shot, neither could the entire team.Throughout the game, we were always down, we never lead at any
Basketball has always been an easy sport for me. I was the team captain and one of the carriers of the team. I was quite confident in myself and knew the consequences of not playing. But when I became a freshman in high school and could not play on the middle school team I had one option, to play on the varsity team. I was nervous because I had made friends on the middle school team but did not know the dynamic of the varsity team. When the first practice rolled around I was anxious.

Alexander Grass, the author of "#MeToo on the March: The Groupthink and Hysteria Begin" starts off his article by calling #MeToo, the movement to allow sexual assault victims to speak up and feel supported, a meme. Grass continues to write his article with a quote from Alyssa Milano stating, "If you've been sexually harassed or assaulted write 'me too' as a reply to this tweet," (Grass). Where he proceeds to state that women will be posting their stories, hoping for "fifteen minutes of fame," (Grass).
I see my buddy Tom, and I run up to him. He looks at me and smiles, we both knew that we would be at this camp and we were excited. I look at Tom and he doesn’t look nervous at all. They blow the whistle, and tell us it’s time for the showcase game, a game where all the coaches look at your skills on the court. Not just playing but also leadership skills, and your ability not to get frustrated
My main thing I needed to work on was making less turnovers. Turnovers are the least thing you want to do during a basketball game. Making one turnover can make a huge difference.
Parents are very concern about their daughters playing sports. Parents wants to find out from the coach, what time practice starts, where are you practicing at, if it is a male coach; will there be a female who will help assist with the girls, and what time practice ends. Parents also want to know who will be bringing the children home. Parents love to see their children play sports. The best thing is to encourage your child in the sports he or she is playing. Children play good when they look up and see their parents in the audience. Once the parents agree to let their child play, parents tells their child about the advantages and disadvantages in playing basketball. I encourage my child to do their best and do not give up if this is something you like to
The Harlem Dancer reflects that goodness and hope can remain through struggle. The poem begins by characterizing the audience of the dancer. Including the detail that the audience was full of “youths” (line 1) expresses the freedom that they feel, which contrasts greatly to that dancer’s life. The detail that they “watched her perfect, half-clothed body sway,” (2) portrays their perspective of the dancer. They view her as a sexual object, rather than an actual person.
Well I wake and I know we have a game. I wake up and eat a decent breakfast you don't want to eat to much so your stomach does not hurt when you start running. But the game is at 1:50 and i have a lot of time to get ready. Me and my dad go to the gym before games so I can warm up. But when we get back home it's about time to get ready for the game. After I get ready we got to the game and we are normally pretty early so i have time to warm up there to. But normally I am a starter so i'm on the court for jump ball. In the first quarter we went up by two but i did not play so well. After a couple minutes went through I told coach to take me out i was not playing good. Well know we are in the second quarter and I did not play this quarter now
See that mountain side over there? Looks like the face of a woman, doesn’t it? They say it looks that way because once… It was July 5th 2016 it was offseason in Oklahoma City and Kevin Durant wanted a ring and he is thinking about the 3-1 lead that they blew against the Golden State Warriors. He was looking for a new and better team that can get him at ring. So he looked at the Golden State Warriors the new rival team of the Oklahoma City Thunder. One day all the Oklahoma City Thunder fans heard of this, and they started calling him a snake for wanting to leave and they thought he was a trader, and they all got together and started to cut out Kevin Durant’s face and put the name cupcake above his face. So every time he goes to play Oklahoma
We may have one of the best all-time NBA shooters playing right before our eyes. That player is none other than Stephen Curry. It has been apparent mostly this year in the season he is currently playing with the Golden State Warriors. With the NBA being quite contemporary, Stephen Curry has done things never before seen on the basketball court. There have been many NBA legends in awe and left speechless because of the talents of Curry. Stephen Curry has proven to best the best shooter in NBA history by having a great work ethic, inheriting genes from his father, and having the team he has around him.
Oh my god I don’t know why i’m nervous. You’ll be fine Hannah it’s just a basketball game nothing else you got this. The clock was ticking down till the game starts. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. The game starts, the ref throws the ball up, and Olivia tips it to Brooklyn. Brooklyn gets the ball and passes to one of my teammates, they dribble down the court passit to Julia Nunn and she shoots and makes it. After the first quarter it’s 10-7 them. The second quarter was starting and I felt like I was doing terrible, I couldn’t dribble, pass, or even make a
The mixture of dread and excitement come as I walk onto the court. It’s eight in the morning and as I look around, everyone has a tired look on their face. The parents all have coffee and look half asleep. On the other hand, the coach is pumped up. I slip my shoes on not really noticing what I’m doing. Our first game on a new team. We are expecting a team we have played team before but when they walk in, we get a real shock.
As an individual I love staying active, socializing with others, being dependable, and keeping busy. Playing Basketball for Flour Bluff ISD, since the seventh grade, has granted me the opportunity to achieve all of these goals. For some peculiar reason I have consistently felt that I lacked experience of which my peers had, and that I would never be able to acquire it. Soon after I started playing I became intimidated of my fellow teammates and worried about the time I felt I lost, due to beginning so late in my childhood. Without fail, I always feel a sense of accomplishment after making it through tryouts every year and as I approach my final season, it has become clear just how much of my life was devoted to Basketball, that I truly love it and how I am thankful to be a part of something much more than just a team.
Basketball seems to get into your blood. It is said by those who play, "You eat, you sleep and you play basketball." When I was a little girl all I wanted to be was a professional basketball player. I couldn't count how many times I pounded that dumb ball in our driveway until it was too dark to see, then I would play for hours more by the porch light. Now I realize that was only childish insanity. Back then they didn’t even have a girls’ profession basketball league in the states. However, that didn't stop me from walking away empty handed. One thing I learned was how to prepare oneself for life. Well, at least, how to prepare oneself for a game.
