In world politics, when you are asked who the most influence leaders, political leaders like Theresa May, Barack Obama or even Prince William pop to mind. Even though, they are influential leaders we fail to realize that actors, artist or even people involved in the medical field are influence leaders, such as, Gina Rodriguez. Although, Gina was born in the U. S, she has always been criticized and stereotyped for being Hispanic, such as, before leading her role in Jane the Virgin, she was offered a role in Devious Maids as a Hispanic housekeeper. But she has prohibited her identity to hinder her accomplishments. Gina has used her fame to her advantage and is rapidly bringing a voice to Hispanics and women. In the world of politics this would
It was a privilege to listen to Stephanie Garrison share her story and provide encouragement for our own lives. Personally, I found it very admirable how willing she was to share and be vulnerable. Beginning in the athletics department in January of 2014, as the Director of Operations. Nicole Hernandez is a young teenage girl who is going through life one adventure after another. She was born in Miami Florida, on February 2nd, 2002. Valeria Hernandez was born May 9th, 1999 in Fort Collins, Colorado. After six weeks of her birth, her family decided to move back home to Temosachic, Chihuahua MX. After two years of being there, they returned to Fort Collins. By this time, she was fluent in Spanish and beginning her life in the United States. Going into classes for preschoolers she began to understand the difficulties that lay ahead. During the first few months of her education, it was difficult being social by having a translator help her around in this new institution. After a few weeks, she learned enough English to understand directions on her own and to enjoy playtime with her new friends. Then came elementary school; attending a bilingual institution, for English and
Born on March 4, 1998, Ivanna Michelle Meza Nuno migrated from her native Mexico to the USA at the age of 9 years old. Although Ivanna and her family had a financially stable life, they migrated to the USA escaping house abuse. The obstacles that she has faced in her short life have made of Ivanna the young lady that she is right now. The experiences that she has gone through have shaped her life and defined the person that she is going to be one day. Her life hasn’t been the best or the worse life there could be, but it sure hasn’t affected her with her personality since she is a person that loves life and is a heck of a friend from what I can say.
One would think that high school English teachers prepare you for college English courses. However, Maria P. Rey disagrees with this in many ways. Rey announces early on in her letter that she wants high school teachers, "... to re-evaluate not only the method of teaching but more importantly the substance of what is taught."(Rey 2009) I agree with Rey in that teachers should reconsider the content of what is taught to students because my college experience has confirmed it. In college writing, I soon learned that I was not prepared for what was expected of me. On the other hand, the method of the five paragraph essay gave me a formula to begin my writing, but Rey contends that this method could keep writers "at a very elementary level of writing."(Rey

Greetings to you all! I am Erika Kennedy. I currently live in Georgia where I am a first grade teacher. I have been teaching for 15 years and I don't consider it a job, but my purpose in life. I enjoy what I do and count it as a privilege to be able to make a difference in the lives of students and families where I am invested. Honestly, as I considered my next steps in my career, somehow I always knew that I was destined to do more than just that of a classroom setting. Others often encouraged me to step up more in the area of leadership, however, I sat back waiting for my turn to take the lead. Soon I realized that I didn't have to wait on others to push me into the position that I desired, but that I can set my own career path. Staying
Sarah Lewandowski was born in June and was adopted by two loving parents. Her birth mother couldn't take care of her as was only fourteen and didn't have any parents to help her. So Julie and Gary adopted Sarah and took her to her new home. Sarah was a very calm baby and didn't throw many temper tantrums. She wasn't fussy with many foods and let her parents dress her however they wanted. As Sarah grew up she made lots of friends, although mostly at the play area at Mc Donald's so she never saw them again. Sarah had a fairly easy time in pre-school but she had a few issues with the other kids sometimes. For example, one time another little girl wanted to give Sarah a hug for absolutely no reason at all. She didn't know this other girl and felt
