People seldom know that Stephen Crane actually grew up with a mother and father that each wrote religious articles, let alone that two of his brothers were writers for a newspaper. This was important in Crane’s life as his upbringing involved a literary background, leading to reading and writing being encouraged upon him all of his youth.
