Steven Spielberg is one of the most influential film personalities in the history of film, and as of the pioneers of the Hollywood era. He is the Hollywood's best known and influential directors and producers in film history. Spielberg has numerous big-grossing, critically acclaimed credits to his name, as producer, director and writer. Spielberg was born in December 18, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to an Orthodox Jewish family. His mother, Leah Posner was a concert pianist and restaurateur, and his father, Arnold Spielberg, was an electrical engineer who was involved and worked on the computer development. In his young age, he faced difficulty reconciling being an Orthodox Jew because of the perception to his parents’ Jewish practices. At the age of 12, his first home movie that he made was a train wreck involving his toy. His early teens, after entering high school Spielberg continue to make amateur 8 mm films like the last gunfight. The segment “Eye” was unusual in his body of work, in that the camerawork was more highly stylized. After this, and an episode of Marcus Welby, M.D., Spielberg got his first feature-length assignment of The Name of the Game called "L.A. 2017", a futuristic science fiction episode that impressed Universal Studios and signed him to a short contract. Spielberg did another segment of Night Gallery and he work on the shows such as Counselor at Law and The Psychiatrist, before landing the first series episode of Columbo: Murder by the Book.
