Each year, about 30,000 cases of Lyme disease are reported to CDC by state health departments and the District of Columbia. Could you imagine what the number would be if everyone knew their symptoms and reported it? Lyme disease is preventable, but you have to take the steps to protect your pet and yourself. There are many ways to protect yourself against ticks such as using insect repellant, wearing long sleeves and pants, and wear light-colored clothing to be able to see a tick. More importantly, if you spot a tick latched onto you, immediately remove it tweezers grasping the tick closely by the skin, and pull it straight out. I want to formally state that I was working on November 23, 2017, during thanksgiving day. During that day there was a potluck that merge both terminal 5 and 6. I brought spaghetti and cake specifically for Michael Ciganaero, that ended up being shared by everyone.

In today’s society social media, movies, magazines, and television have negatively impacted young adults self image by showing pictures that are digitally enhanced. Therefore, the pictures are not a true representation of the individual.

Thank you for your great post. The bowel prep is a scarred and discomfort experience for most people. Also, some people misunderstand the meaning of bowel prep and do not drink enough fluid to maintain hydration. As a result, before the surgery, they already feel sick. I had one patient who should undergo colonoscopy, but he did NPO himself and take the medication for bowel prep. the day before the procedure, he developed severe dizziness and low blood pressure. He had to reschedule it and stayed in the hospital for a couple of days. Proper education can help patient decrease their stress and maintain a good status for surgery.
As a single mother of two boys, five and thirteen, I have seen and heard a lot about a virus called the enterovirus. Not really quite understanding what I was hearing on the news and reading in the newspaper I wanted to learn more. I am the type of person who worries over everything and with every little cough or running nose my child has I couldn’t help but wonder if I should be calling the doctor to get them in to double check their symptoms. Of course my oldest son thinks I am over reacting and proceeds to give me the “oh mom look” along with the rolling of the eyes and all, anytime I bring up the fact that I am worried about them developing something then the common cold. Being a parent, one of my biggest concerns, is that I will misjudge
Hello Debra what you said is right, as the advancement in healthcare created a less time for bedside nursing. I am a nurse for 20 years and I still remember and cherish my olden days of nursing. I started my nursing in 1994, in India. Those days, there were only few chairs in the nurse’s station so that nurses can spend more time at patient’s bedside. The only documentation is medication and nurses notes and may take less than an hour to complete that simple documentation. We spend all day long in the units in assisting patients and never seen a patient with bad bed sores as we move them out of the bed to wheelchair and encourage the family to move them around the unit. Today we spend tremendous time on documentation and less time with patients.
Yesterday I went to a doctor who prescribed me antibiotics for my stomach virus. I was hoping that they would have kicked in but unfortunately, I am still nauseous and my stomach cramping along with the abdominal pain have not subsided. I have requested another PTO day for today. I also have a doctor’s note if needed.

Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to inform my audience on the importance of vaccinating their children. My central idea is that current education is too lax, we need to better educate our new parents on the importance of vaccinations.

I hope this finds you well. Last Friday, I received a voicemail from Valerie Dunn at 6:45am, informing me that she will be changing my school from Francis C. Smith School #50 to Dwyer House this coming September. It is to my understanding that my principal did not request this change nor did I. I finally was able to speak to Valerie today and she indicated she was moving me because she feels I have a lot of questions and could benefit from working in the high school with another nurse. I clarified to Valerie I have only encountered concerns, or required assistance, within my role as a school nurse when she has advised me to disregard the written policies and procedures provided by the district. I have worked as an Early Childhood School Nurse since 2006 and as an Emergency Room Nurse since 2001 within the state of New Jersey without any difficulties. As a former resident and graduate of the city of Elizabeth, I am more than willing to cooperate and embrace change to better serve the district students and
