Short Story I will be the best and only the best... I will crush my opponents. I will crush the competition. I will crush that ball. I am the Greatest of All Time. I am Josh Smith. I am so pumped this morning because it is the tryouts for my favorite baseball team, the malechek Screaming Eagles. Right away when my alarm went off I jumped out of bed, Took a shower, got dressed, put on my cleats which are exactly what my best friend Henry has, and then I headed downstairs for breakfast. Today I had to eat healthily so I had blueberry pancakes, with a side of cut up bananas, and apples. Then decided to drink a strawberry banana smoothie, since that’s what my friend Henry and I always drank together. The tryouts were at 12:30 sharp, at Malechek field. My Dad and I got there 30 minutes early to practice and stretch a little before tryouts. During tryouts, I hit 3 home runs, 6 single's, and 3 double's. I did amazing! After the tryouts, my Dad and I went to the Batting cages 2 miles away. I decided to run all the way while` my dad drove to the cages so I could lose some weight and run faster. After the cages, we went home. By the time we got home it was already dinner time. After dinner, I went to bed. As I was asleep I thought in my dream… What if I make both teams then what will happen, will I have to choose one. That morning I thought about that even more.... Then at that same time, I remembered that my best friend Henry didn’t do so good. Then I thought what if he makes the
It was a hot summer day at HMS.I was looking at the school’s sports board.I played almost all of the sports up there, football, basketball, and tennis. The one I haven’t played was soccer.I was not very good at soccer but it was worth a try.
On one of the first days of school, I had the option to tryout for volleyball or soccer. I was so happy and excited to actually try out for a sport for the first time because I have never been on an actual team before. The problem was, I didn't know what sport to choose. My family really wanted me to try out for soccer because my dad used to play a lot when he was younger and along with my cousin. Soccer has been a huge part of my life because we always play together. Everyday I would practice and practice but I did not seem to get any better than the day before. On the other hand,
“Here,” Dean left his stoves and knelt down beside her. “I can’t let you clean up my mess.”
On July 21st, a serious crime had happened. The town of Eastville will never be the same. The people, animals, and the town had completely changed, especially Penny. Penny will never be Penny ever again.
I bask in the destruction as the symbols of the most powerful beings on Earth simply melt away. I shut my eyes and let the snow wash over my skin, arms outstretched. I open my eyes to Jensen chuckling. “What?” I ask.
The bleak, white landscape appeared to continue on forever as Ada trudged up the mountain side. She had heard the gunshots pierce through the icy air and immediately began running towards their origin.
“You can’t do this to me!” Sandra yelled. Everyone in the office heard the commotion coming from Mr. Lewis’s office. As Sandra stormed through the office, her co-workers awkwardly turned away to avoid eye contact and rumbled through papers to pretend as if they weren’t watching and listening, but Sandra knew better. This was the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to her.
Our story starts off in a small, war ravaged greek village. It is not technologically advanced, nor do they know a lot about science and how the world functions. Here, we find Ventra, a young teenage boy, using his wind powers to destroy a small market to steal the delicious fruits. As Ventra is on the run, he bumps into a middle aged woman named Brite. She thought he did it on purpose, so she blinded him with her light powers, knocked him out, and took him to her hideout. When Ventra woke up all he could hear is a woman walking towards him. The room was pitch black, until many torches were lit to light up the room.
Mavis can hear shouting. She can tell it’s Ian because they have had plenty of yelling matches before, but instead of differing tastes in movies, Mavis can tell there is true contempt in his voice. Rattling her head, she can faintly see Leon collapsed on the other side of the room. Her heart tugs. She tries to talk to him, yet Ian’s voice drowns her out. Mavis wants to scream at Ian until she looks at him, and he his face isn’t twisted with anger, but fear. She follows his line of sight to a man that looks like he is what caused the gorge in the Grand Canyon by jumping down a little hard. The giant man is doing a pitiful job of ignoring Ian since his face is red and keeps glowering at Ian. Mavis uses the luck that The Forest gave her to encompass Ian with fortune. Her luck is noticeably weaker than normal, and Mavis understands that they were taken far from the school, and further from The Forest. She tries to move her hands, but they seem to be restrained. When she looks up, there are stars. Ian stops berating the man when a door opens to let in magnolias and councilwomen Morris. Mavis’s can’t comprehend the situation, but Ian seems to understand something because instead of yelling profanities he casts a spell that breaks whatever was holding his hands together. Mavis watches as Ian fends off physical attacks from the giant man and bolts of lightning from Morris that crackle the sky above and sends a blanket of shattered glass onto them. Ian isn’t attempting to be careful because Mavis is supporting him. He seems to know that by just moving around her luck will make him step away from the bombarding duo. Without Mavis noticing, Leon is standing and casting weaker spells than Ian. Morris easily paralyzes Leon, which gives Ian time to cast illegal spells that opens a glittering fissure in the room and that causes the giant man to bleed from his pores. Mavis feels her restraints burst from her wrists in flames. Ian is an amazing multitasker she notes. He is also at Leon’s side. Before Morris can summon another surge of strikes, Mavis tackles her. Ian takes the opportunity to toss Leon into the fissure. Mavis recognizes it as a portal now. She learned about illegal spells in school, and the portal takes the
Last summer Lily and her family took a trip to Wyoming and South Dakota. They went to Yellowstone, Devils Tower, Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore.
The old house groaned and creaked. Blake stepped over a pile of bloody glass. Someone, no something, had jumped through the window. She didn’t want to see anything more, but her feet kept moving. Blake turned the corner. The door to the parlour was ripped off it’s hinges. She didn't dare make a sound, the monster was still here, and it wanted her. The parlour couch was slashed open, it's stuffing falling out. A nasty red stain colored the white couch. A arm, mangle and shredded, was lying under the couch. Blake resisted the urge to throw up. She ran into the kitchen, trying to hide from her fate. A stench of blood filled my nostrils. Blake turned her head. A girl her age was lying on the floor. Her long blonde hair was matted with blood. Her neck was twisted at an odd angle. She had a bloody stump from where her arm was torn out of its socket. Long cuts indicated where an inhuman creature clawed open her chest.I had never seen her before. She was just a guest at this party. Blake knew Maia was here. Even if Blake found her, it was probably too late.
It was windy and foggy that day. I don’t even remember getting lost. All I remember were the other kids telling me to hide in the trees. Honestly, I don’t know if they even liked me. They always kept telling me I couldn’t talk to them in a group, but I just thought they were talking in private.
It was a nice October day and Bertha and her family were out on a hike in the woods when suddenly, SQUISH! Bertha heard a bug crush underneath her foot. “Eww,” she stated in disgust, “I just stepped on a spider!” Bertha desperately tried to get the spider guts off of her shoe as her dad said, “You should have watched where you were walking sweetie! That spider could have a family that it was trying to get back to!” Berthas dad had a thing about not killing bugs because he claims that what goes around comes around, but Bertha thought it was silly since they were just meaningless bugs. “Yeah okay,” Bertha sighed. So Bertha, her mom, her dad, and her sister Delaney all continued their hike but Bertha kept on killing the small bugs that would land on her arms.
Meril held up a linen napkin. “Chartreuse?” she said, waving it in front of Harriet’s face.
“When she finally felt she could prove her worth she returned to Danse Macabre. She heard the news of her father's death and of the crown being passed to her brother.
