Executive Summary
Leadership is a winning combination of both personal traits and the ability to think and act as a leader. It acquires a person who directs the activities of others for the good of all. Anyone can be a leader. Leaders change all the time, hence, they left behind a legacy for incoming generation to appreciate and emulate. It constitutes a landmark that continues to flourish and remembered from generations after generations.

Leadership inspires others to take the appropriate action. Therefore, strategic leadership is a management model that trains and encourages employees to best prepare the company for the future. In other words, strategic leaders are always looking ahead and analyzing the present in terms of

6. Transactional Theory
This theory emphasizes the importance of the leadership between leaders and followers, derived from a form of ‘contract’ through which the leader delivers rewards or recognition in return for the commitment or loyalty of the followers.
7. Transformational Theory
This theory explains that a leader creates something new in a form of transformation to the followers; leader takes care, motivate, inspire, encourage, support and lead to achieve significant physical change and better performance in its goal.

Each of these theories takes a rather individualistic perspective of the leader, although a school of thought gaining increasing recognition is that of “dispersed” leadership. Leadership style plays an important role in the development of an organization. Through these leadership theories, it shows that Dato’ Tony Fernandes’s leadership style falls under transformational style.

The full range of leadership talks about five elements of transformational leadership:

1. Individualized Consideration
The leader attends to each employee's needs, acts as a mentor or coach and listens to concerns and needs and welfare. Provides empathy and moral support apart from maintaining open-communication. This also includes the need for respect and celebrates the individual contribution. Employees have will and aspirations for self development and have intrinsic motivation for their tasks.
