Strategic Plan Part 1: Conceptualizing a Business A strategic business plan will help the organization define its mission and vision, giving the organization a sense of purpose and direction. In addition a strategic plan will help the organization asses its strengths and weaknesses, and develop short-term strategies that are compatible with long-term objectives. A strategic plan will balance the use of resources, people, structures, and technologies in order to achieve company goals with the least amount of risk. . Novel Beans offer an additional reason like a bookstore to attract student population. “Most of the coffee shops in the area are either chain locations such as Victor Allen’s and Starbucks, or they are very alternative locations that border on hippy in nature, which might not be conducive to every consumer’s taste” (Evonson, 2007). The Novel Beans is very comfortable, clean and good environment to enjoy snack as well as literature. It has majority of ordering options like other coffee shops but one thing is different from other coffee shops is that they would be fully operational bookstore for consumers. There would be internet services and other several programs such as lectures, discussions and reading books.

“It is very easy to lose your way without written mission statement. A mission statement is your destination and tells you exactly what your company needs to stands for and what you wish to achieve” (Talbot, 2003). Mission statement for your organization provides everyone with a clear focus and most importantly the same focus. Every plan should be customer focused and customer focused plan keeps you headed in the right direction. Our mission is to provide excellent and pleasant experience for each customer that comes in the store. Customers are our top priority and we will try our best to make sure that we provide knowledgeable customer service to meet customer’s needs even if it requires going above and
