Strengths and Weaknesses:
My strength includes high conscientiousness in learning. I tend to be organized, planning ahead and reading before classes such that the actual class acts as a reinforcement for my learning. According to Double-loop Learning (Smith, 2001; 2013), we often merely learn from wrong answers and try a different approach if we do not get the questions correct. However, double-loop learning requires us to understand why do we have such tendencies. Why do I always fail to see the connection between the theories and the case? Why do I find it difficult to contextualize the theories? By reading ahead and practicing the application of theories in class, I can first recognize and identify thinking patterns which hinder me from drawing links between the case and the theories. Then, I am more able to spot,

Such applications allow me to reinforce my learning, supplement teachings and apply what I have learnt. TED talks are carefully curated educational videos categorized by different subject matters such as conscientiousness, goal-setting and sociology. By watching relevant talks by distinguished speakers, it can offer me alternate perspectives that comes with experience and maturity. For example, the video “What’s your 200-year plan?” by Raghara KK. supplemented my professor’s teachings of curating 5-year plans for ourselves. I can also pick up tips and emulate their way of presentation to have the same impact on the audience for my group presentation. Next, I can condense all the information in the form of flashcards or mindmaps in GoConqr for easy reference and to avoid going through the chunk of words in the textbook (Annex A). This forces me to recall theories, and to reflect and make sense of the relationship between the ideas I have gathered and the theoretical
Based on the Clifton Strengths Assessment my top five strengths are strategic, deliberative, learner, maximize and individualization. As an individual, I rarely look into my weakness. I believe that when your too focused on your weakness, you forget about your strengths. Everything the book said is true, and we need to take the time to look at our strengths and make it perfect. It is true that in this world or the school system, we are taught to look at our weakness and correct it so that we can become stronger in our life. This book brings out the truth that I longed to hear for a long time. Invariably, I hear my professor tell their students that for them success in life, they must practice and look at our weakness. This book proves it wrong because for us to become successful, we must stay to our strengths’ path.

This past month I have had both my ups and downs. Some of my strengths include interdental cleaning using floss, TePe easy stick, wood stick and pikster stick in a fashion that was both appropriate and effective. My ability to grasp the concept of using sonic/oscillating electric toothbrush was something that I thought that went well for me this month. Also, I have finally gained the ability to hold the periodontal probe with good balance, something that went really well for me, as I was able to hold it without any shaky movements in which it could hurt the patient.
For the most part, I found that the Gallup Strengths Quest survey was a helpful and accurate tool for recognizing individuals’ strengths. While I have a few qualms with placement and the wording of a few themes, I believe the survey accurately reflected my traits. The Gallup Survey named restorative as my first, and most prominent, strength. I believe the description fits as one of my strengths because I enjoy solving problems and uncovering undetermined factors and eradicating them. But I do not agree with the first part listed as a characteristic of those who have restorative as a major theme, that is being energized when new problems arise .I do not get energized by problems, but rather, I love exterminating all problems.
TED talks teach values. That is something we need to consider while approaching on how to introduce these ideas in the class. Although we could use the activities that the presenters presented, which are really good, I’d rather suggest holding a discussion about the themes that these videos showcased in class. While these videos will provide

There is a saying in my company if you don’t like change you need to find another company to work for and this is so true.

The strengths and weaknesses of a committed actor can be paradoxical. For this area I chose to consult with an acting colleague of 17 years. I thought it was necessary to have an objective perspective to honestly describe what has been observed from someone that knows me, personally. The following paragraph from a close friend and veteran actor explains this quandary in her description of me.
