We would like to congratulate your office on the first successful year of operating and maintaining Ryerson’s Student Learning Centre. When the announcement was made that Ryerson would be adding this state of the art facility to our campus we as students were ecstatic to experience a learning space which was truly unique. Although the Student Learning Centre has been extremely beneficial to all students Ryerson Students this far, we believe the space has not been used to its full potential.
Before this course, my writing exceeded above an average level, but now my writing has developed a sophisticated technique. This course pushed me to include higher comprehensive words into every piece I wrote. Continuously, I would be searching the internet for synonyms of verbs, adjectives, and nouns I wanted to include in my writings. This technique forced a maturity to emerge into my writing. As a writer, my options and understanding of diverse types of writing has improved immensely. This course allowed me to discover what forms of writing I write best, and what difficulty each type brings. My writing is strong with formal pieces, like the Prairie Meadows Scholarship Essay; pieces where I am allowed to use figurative language and make
I have lived in West Liberty all my life, with my parents Corie and Ronda Peterson and my younger sister Morgan. I love golfing especially with my friends and family as well as spending time outdoors in the summer. My mother is my biggest inspiration because while she was fighting cancer she not only stayed strong for my sister and I but also she has taught me to be strong and to believe in who I am and who I will become. I am extremely excited to be furthering my education at Mount Mercy University to become a neonatal nurse, this scholarship will help me with my financial insecurities making me more confident to pursue my dreams.
Below you will find samples of my work, as well as links to my website and resume. I hope everything at your agency is going well and thriving. Let me know if you would like to talk further about any internship opportunities you currently offer or have open. I would also love to hear any feed back on what you have seen so far if you have any. Thank you so much for your time. I look forward to hearing from
Hopkinsville is a small town where schools and churches spin a web of contacts in which natives can find one another by tugging on the correct thread. The intimate nature between my school and the community provides me with worthy yet insular opportunities to volunteer, such as collecting for canned food drives, serving at school fundraisers, and working sports concessions. However, I prefer volunteer work that is continuous, serves the community at large, and satisfies my desire to learn and teach. Discovering such a position outside the well-worn paths was exacting. After searching through various community organizations, I found my solution in the Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville. There, I could satisfy my interest in teaching and serving my community, while pushing the edges of my comfort zone.
When presented with the word community I think comradery, a group of people whom give one a sense of belonging. According to Webster’s dictionary a community is defined as “a body of people having common rights, privileges, or interests, or living in the same place under the same laws and regulations. According to that definition I felt like it was easy for me to identify with various communities all at once.
As UNLV Graduates its 2016 Spring class, its commencements speakers offer words of community and impact
I am interested in the leadership opportunities within the Endowed Scholars Program. I was a parliamentarian in high school for local school SkillsUSA chapter for a year. My job is to cooperate with other members on the leadership team to create plan to improve different workforce skills in construction, architecture and engineering. I also maintained the order of the discussion in general meeting, and compile feedback to improve the chapter. Also, I was in the Urban Barcode Research Program to work with a professor in her current study. I worked with Professor Alter in genetic study of the fish species in the Bronx River. I need to research about the background of the Bronx River, genetic techniques that were used in the labs, and understand
“Small groups” were identified as “safe” places of connection, support and encouragement, both for mental health concerns and daily emotional struggles.
Upon completing a stage in life, such as the completion of a graduate program, it is productive to reflect upon that experience and ponder the motivation for that course of action, as well as ponder the utility of that experience. As my graduate program comes to a conclusion, now is the time for me to discuss the components of the program that have been of particular value to me, and why such program components have been of value.
During my time at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), I was awarded an International Merit Scholarship worth $5000 per year. In addition in my senior year, I got a Grand Scholarship worth $1000. I received “I am Grand Valley” certificate in 2015. “I am Grand Valley” certificate is a recognition award for leadership contribution to GVSU community. I also received two times “Lead Like a Laker” awards for being exceptional RA in conducting roommate conflicts and remaining patient and calm. I find mediating roommate conflicts to be a very good training for clinical psychology, since there will be probably be patients who will have conflicts with their spouses/roommates/partners.
The child I have chosen is Taviana she is 17 years old and a senior at West Valley High School, I chose her because I thought she was different. I would always see her around school but never have gotten the chance to see what she is really like. I’ve learned that “T” has a mental illness called Schizophrenia sometimes she talks to herself a lot when she needs to conceal herself from doing something harmful to her or others around her. In Fact “T” has a teacher aide that goes with her everywhere she goes and her name is Mrs. Hale, she helps Tavi work on problems that come up in her life whether it's a problem from home or just a math problem. On another note I have another focus child that i had in the beginning of the year
It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview of my career and future. I am learning some important skills and finding out some things about myself and the tough skin I will need in order to stay in the area of juvenile support.
After this internship made me realised how diverse engineering fields and there is so much new knowledge to learn, considering myself with electrical power engineering background working in construction site which may related on civil engineering field. When I studied the project plan documentations, there is some new term and I need to find extra information on the Internet myself to understand more about the ongoing project. Having said that, knowledge that I have obtained throughout my study in ECU proved to be useful such as basic CAD, mechanic and material courses during my first and second year which make me easier to understand the structure drafting of the floor plans.
