Students are subjected to in-proper education; as well as, harsh and unhealthy environment at school. The educational system has failed to adequately provide the best quality education to the students. In turn, leaving both the students and parents with uncertainty of a prosperous education. If I were to change the education system I will begin with students of K-12 attending public schools; and the changes I would propose. In addition, teachers need a different way of educating students; were they can obtain a comprehensive education. Lastly, the education system and politicians need to focus on the un-ethical practices performing at the schools. In continuation, students should be divided based on their ability. For example, classes offered to the students will be in three levels: strong, average, and weak. This will allow students to be taught at the same level as the other students in the class. As suppose, to students who are advanced and getting left behind due to the pace of other students that are at different level as they are. Also, students will be taught a curriculum fit to their ability; without risking to fall behind on their comprehension. This will increase their engagement in their work, and be motivation to move to another higher level. For example, in the reading of Jonathan Kozol Fremont High School he discusses how students actually benefit from the current education system. He mentions “the average ninth grade student reads a fourth or fifth grade
Over the course of many years, several things have changed, including technology, science, and people; however, our culture and idea of education have not. Some of these problems include teachers that are not being as valued as they should be and students who are changing both physically and mentally, but are still not being supported by our education system. The education system itself is also problematic as well, but it can be fixed with a change in our culture. Teachers and students are the base of the education system, and by not helping them, the system is not helping itself. Students are gaining new emotions and viewpoints, but the education system has had a hard time keeping up, even teachers are changing but are still undervalued.
Education gives common people the means to turning dreams into reality. Education allows common people to open up their minds to various possibilities, that will arise from becoming educated. But, yet there are times where our education systems do not uphold student/learners to a high norm. Although, problems with education systems rarely occur, inadequate performance in school can be feasible if there are issues within the child’s household. Nonetheless, students who face inconsistent dilemmas, fail since they attempt to solve both problems.
Many may believe that the United States school system is flawless; that no other countries school system or organization is as advanced as ours, “just like our government.” Those people need to come into the realization that our school system is broken, we need to be realists and not dreamers when it comes to something as serious as our education. Our school system has not been putting in the needed or required effort to reach the goals of true education or a good education that we, as students, deserve. Schools have been cheating us of what we deserve. Although some may believe our school system is perfect, it is not; our school system is broken and it needs to be fixed.
There should be a better educational system in United States. The first reason is that students of United states educational system are not learning what they need to learn. For example, there are students who come out of these schools and still do not know how to read. Also these schools are not protecting the student from drugs or premarital sex, which is only harming the kids. Kids are dying from drug over doses, and girls are dropping out of schools from teen pregnancy. These teen pregnancies also hurt the future kids, because they are more than likely not going to know their dad.
What is it that’s making our country suffer from excelling in education? Very few would argue about the importance of our education system today. Issues such as lazy teachers, lack of parent involvement, and teaching useless information in class may hinder progress in today’s education system. An education plays a crucial role and is an essential tool, unfortunately, with all the jaded judgments; our students are not able to value their education. A proper education can open the doors to many opportunities that would have never been possible if it had not been for the knowledge and preparation that one received while in school. With the growing economy and desperate times, it is more important than ever for our country’s children to receive the proper education and training that is needed to allow them to acquire a good job and produce the revenue needed to live. Today's education system is flawed in many ways, and these flaws should be eliminated to ensure a good education for our future generation.
Is the school system perfect? No it's not and, here's how we can improve it. We need to improve teacher pay. Give students better lunches and, modify the uniform rules. To make the school a better place for students, teachers and, parents alike hears how.
“Since the 1800s, the school has continually been seen as a means of eliminating poverty, crime, and social problems” (Spring, 2014, p. 83). Society and schools are closely interdependent. Changes within society cause a need for modifications within the school system. Similarly, alterations within the school system impact society. Previous sociological, historical, and reform movements resulted in drastic educational and societal changes. These movements varied from the common school reform to the attempt “to control the spread of “inferior blood” into the general population” (Stoskopf, 1999, p. 1).
According the most recent national assessment recorded in the Washington post, “the nations high school seniors have shown no improvement in math and reading performances since 2009.” In the most recent years, education has taken a huge downfall. Since 2010, over 45% of students drop out. Many students have problems with the grading system, so many different testing programs and having to follow a set of rules and not expand on those rules. The education system needs to induce more creativity, enforce the ways on how education is important and elaborate more on the rules of grading.
One of the biggest problems around the world is how schools are effecting student’s life. Many parents want their children to be happy about going to school but sometimes school can be a negative environment for them. If I had the authority to change my school in a positive way, I would make dress code mandatory, make school lunches healthier, and stop bullying.
In the beginning of our journey, it was clear that there were seven committee members that had seven different ideas of what personalizing education should look like. Visions from all areas of the board where created by our members. For example, there was talk about creating the perfect forest school, establishing a better form of democracy in education, and the debate of standardized testing belong in the public school systems. However, the main theme that we all had in common was our personal experiences with the lack of education being a priority for ourselves or a love ones in the past. It was also important that we made a difference in decreasing the academic expectations of teachers in some kind of way. The committee wanted to bring a refreshing way to the idea of partnership with teachers. This partnership would transform into a unique way of help students on their educational excursions.
The present school system is corrupt. Administration makes rules to try and make every student exactly like one another. The schooling systems expectations of students limits their opportunities to express their individuality.
system has become a serious concern. The crisis in K-12 education is one of the
In the Article, “Let's Really Reform Our School” the author, Anita Garland, stated that schools around the country are corrupt and we have to change them drastically to get a better result. I agree with what the author is stating of how to make a change. I believe that the schools understand that the system is damaged, but I think the schools are confused about how to cure this problem. Just like this article says, we need to save the education system by taking away the troublemakers who have no desire to learn, allowing the children that do want to learn to get an education, changing the cafeteria food to be more healthy, low fat and nutritious, providing more energy and better diets, and also adding school uniform policies to limit out the distraction of other classmates.
Education reform is a topic that every student, parent and teacher should be interested in because it effects everyone in the community. Many different approaches to education reform have been tried, and even though they seem to work for the time being, there are always more improvements that need to be made. One of the best ideas that has been discussed in the most recent years is getting the parents and students more involved in the actual reform process. Many school administrators see a problem with involving students, even though they are the ones most affected by the changes within schools. Student’s opinions should be taken into consideration because they are the ones who see what happens inside the school and within the classroom, and are the most affected by it. Involving parents and students in the reform of their schools will improve the quality of education, improve parent and teacher relationships and reduce parent and student complaints.
A debate has centered recently on the argument of whether strategy for students at high school should be applied to obtain a successful education system, with a voice calling for providing the appropriate environment of education for both gender-students that assists them to concentrate better on their studies and eliminate all aspects of disruptions. Fulfilling such strategies would improve the quality of education at high schools and raise the range of obtaining high marks. However, should boys and girls be educated separately at high school in order to have higher marks? People claim that when both sexes study in the same class rooms their confidence level will increase and the relation between both sexes will deepen and strengthen its
