Up till now , the following speech acts have been investigated cross 2linguistically : request (Blum 2 Kulka ,1982;1983; House & Kasper ,1987; Faerch & Kasper complaint (DeCapua ,1989 ) , and apology ( Cohen & Olshtain 1987; House ,1988; Garcia ,1989; Beebe et al ,1990; Bergman al ,1990 ) , and correction ( Takahashi & Beebe ,1993 ).
