Study Hall School

In the short story,“The Sanctuary of School,” by Lyndd Barry, the author uses characterization, the building of one’s personality and feelings, to create a central idea. The central idea that is supported in this short story is that home is not a place, it’s a feeling of love and safety. The writer of the story,“The Sanctuary of School,” proves the central idea that home is not a physical place but a feeling hope and protection, through characterization.

Have you ever thought about how a mandatory study hall would affect the study bodies grades? Well having a time for talking to the teaching, talking with other students, and studying may improve higher test scores. Taking time to understand the lesson and thoroughly study will make the learning pace improve. Having a mandatory study hall may improve test scores and higher students abilities.

Nowadays, the society has changed a lot. The varieties of technology bring people many benefits. Moreover, with the development of era and society, human being gradually will be influenced by some factors. Now perspectives are totally different from traditional world, and the character of people similarly has changed rather than follow the traditional tendency. “Connectivity And Its Discontents” is written by the Sherry Turkle. Turkle describes that the technology influence relationship and communications with others. Even though the technology always can let people contact with friends and family more convenient and quick, at the same time Turkle also realize that negative effect influences people’s lives. In addition, as known to all, the role of parents for children is extremely crucial, and the communication with parents and the harmony of family generally influence children’s growth. “The Sanctuary of School” is written by Lynda Barry. Barry states that when she was a child, she experienced her parents fighting all night and felt panic. She just went to the school in order to see her teachers and employees in school, because Barry thinks that she has the feeling of security when she communicates with them.

We have cubbies were students put their belongings. We have tables that either two to three students can sit and do their work or activities. A few ways to improve my classroom would be to have a few more educational poster like of nutrition, grammar (nouns, verbs, adjectives and etc.), separating the different elementary grade levels so they near posters that would benefit them and adding activity board where students can draw or use it. The positive things in the classroom is that the room is separated into two parts so kids doing homework is in one part and kids playing is in the other part. This year Millards South Student Council has decided to start our own student pantry. Our council really wanted to focus on a big project that would benefit our student body. Our administrative staff informed us that 27% of our student body needs financial assistance and qualifies for free and reduced lunch services. This number is significantly higher that our neighboring high school.Once we found this news out, our council knew that we wanted to relate our project to helping them. The first step we did was create a project proposed form and present it to our administrator to start the process of creating the pantry. We were approved and given a room in the school to use as our pantry. We did a lot of research and even visited ‘Ralston High

It seems as though every day there is a new story in the newspaper about police brutality , the corruptions of society , and civil wars within developing countries. Despite the fact that we can easily look up information about the daily traditions and values of different cultures around the world we fail to do so. The lack of knowledge about other people and societies ,besides our own, causes a shallow understanding of why people do the things we hear and see in the headlines. This magnet school appeals to me because I believe learning about the world's customs will help me in my future goals to become a journalist.
