I have checked my grades and they could have been better had I not misunderstood the assignment back in week 1. Nevertheless, my understanding of the instructions has grown and I am learning something new every day. My priorities from here forward are to stick to my schedule and work on my learning style. In order to be prepared for an unexpected computer glitch, I believe you should back up your work to more than one source in various locations. The likely hood of all of your backup sources failing is highly unlikely unless you keep them all in the same place. Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst is something I’ve learned. One thing that stood out to me last week was my skills assessment worksheet. Being honest with yourself
The data results were sorted based on the leadership style and the participants’ position as elementary or secondary administration or faculty and staff. The following table (Table 1) provides the mean from survey responses for each of the nine leadership styles and the participants’ identifiers.
Skill number six is where the resource family understands how to help the child develop a strength based understanding of his or her life story and to make new meaning of their trauma history and current experiences. The goal is to guide the resource family with strategies on how to talk about the child’s past, build meaning to his or her life narrative, and process new information that the child discloses. Some tasks associated with this goal include:
This week in the field as an intern for the Department of Social Services, I was able to complete in-office tasks and complete a home visit with my supervisor. On Monday my supervisor informed me she and other coworkers were in need of creating a new resource manual that would be up to date with the current resources in the Midlands area. Therefore, one of the tasks completed this week was creating a resource manual that would have more resources with up to date numbers, addresses, and contact persons. During this process, I was able to understand the importance of workers having the manual up to date with more resources added to it. Competency skill 9 states a professional social worker, “Actively refers clients to community resources.” With this being required of a professional

The reasoning for young teens to consider starting their own buisnesses is a great idea. There are alot of teenagers who are smart, ambitious and are very much interested in becoming young entrepreneurs. There are already some teens who have turned hobbies or things they like to make or do into a way to earn cash. In several cases, not only have these ventures turned into more than wonderful ideas but also small buisnesses which became
In class we have learned skills on how to be an active note taker and studier. I have learned in the past ways to do both; however, the ideas presented were very good ways for some people. Throughout this essay, I will discuss how to study effectively as well as how to take notes effectively. I will also what changes I have made to my routine for both.
As said in the assignment I have to select a topic which is taken with two peered reviewed journal articles to do a comparative analysis. The subject I choose my articles are about gender and race in criminality. The two articles I selected were “Crime, Cops and Context” written by Andres F. Rengifo, Morgan Pater and Brenda J. Velazquez. The reason I choose the article is it seemed interested and informative. The second article is “Intersectionality of Race, Ethnicity, Gender and Age on Criminal Punishment” written by Darrell Steffensmeier, Noah Painter-Davis and Jeffery Ulmer. The reason I choose the article is it looked similar to the first article, so I thougt it would be good to do a review on similar subjects.
The aim of this essay is to give the reader an overview of the types of study skills necessary for a student to study for and attain a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. In it I will discuss my personal approach to study and the study skills I need to use on the programme. The essay will highlight the skills I feel are my current strengths and draw attention to the areas I need to develop. I will briefly describe and evaluate some different reflective models and in relation to these explain the type of reflective model I use and how this helps me to understand how I can improve my learning experience and my study skills in order to study more proactively.
I demonstrated several skills from chapter three in the book Interviewing for Solution. The skills I demonstrated were summarizing, composing questions, the use of silence, natural empathy, complimenting, and getting details. While doing this process recording, I was not paying attention to the skills I was using. After watching the process recording, I was amazed that I had used so many skills. Additionally, most of skills came naturally.
According to the skills identification worksheet, I have a grand total of 21 skills, mostly through job and school experience. While some of these skills I gained in the military, I consider military experience as job experience, so I did not mark them as “other experience”. The skills were separated into seven different areas of experience. I had at least one skill in each area.

Both activities have shown me that the definition of a complex problem is in itself complex (Funke, 1991) and is subject to many interpretations by different researchers (Gray, 2002 and Wenke et al, 2005). It has also shown me that presenting a problem in a different manner can affect how the solutions are thought about (Gambrill, 2006).
