I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to have attended Lone Star College-CyFair. When I arrived, I was not sure what to expect. I think I was quite nervous, because I really did not have a strong sense of direction. But I believed in myself, and the thing that amazed me right away was how much the wonderful people at Lone Star believed in me, too. My first points of contact in admissions and administration were wonderful, and really set a tone.

Immediately at the beginning of the first semester I knew this was going to be a life-changing experience. I could feel the passion that the instructors had for their jobs, and just how much every single person who works at Lone Star cared about my success. When you're young and just arriving at college, you think you will have to do it all yourself, but I learned that it was not just me working towards my success, but everyone involved at Lone Star, from my classmates to the professors and all the other staff as well. It was like everybody was pulling for me, and that gave me a lot of strength. There were times when it was difficult the course material could be challenging but that is when I felt the Lone Star community shine through the most. I could not be more grateful for that.

Looking back, I think the decision to attend Lone Star CyFair was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I had a tough time growing up. We did not have a lot of money, and that could make somebody feel negative about their prospects. But I
