Success In College Essay

In my current role as a nurse educator I feel the desire to pursue my dream of obtaining a master’s degree, specializing in nursing education. It has been 27 years since I have sat in the student chair in a classroom; therefore, I anticipate a number of challenges and barriers to overcome. In this paper I will present and describe three challenges that I expect to be faced with over the next two years. I will also discuss the strategies I plan to use to address these challenges.

Written communication is the design of clear concise writing, meaning the organization of the paper is structured in a clear incisive manner. Written communication helps to preserve our thoughts or feelings. We tend to use this form of writing to reminisce with others, whether it be a family member, loved one, or general audience. Being able to express those feelings through written communication allows for capturing the memory, and setting the mood of the message being conveyed.

College is a competitive environment; in order to succeed in it a student needs certain skills. Those skills can only be learned. A college professor mentioned that there five basic rules that need to be followed in order to become a good student: study, do all the homework and the assigned reading, attend class, and, most importantly, develop self-discipline and time management 1. In the following lines, a detailed analysis of those different steps will be done. So, let’s get started.

     It seems in the society we live in today, having a college degree is a necessity. Years ago it was the norm for people to just go right into a full time job after high school, if they even finished high school; they did this to support their families. In today’s society a person has a difficult time getting a decent job without a college degree. During an adults working life, bachelor degree graduates will earn about $2.1 million and a high school graduate can expect to earn an average of $1.2 million (Day and Newburger, 2002). As a high school senior, I spent all year searching for a compatible college that fits my requirements. I wanted a college that is affordable, so when I graduate I am not stuck with a massive debt. I wanted a campus that is has friendly people and feels like home. Finally, the college must provide me with the right skills to start my career. With those three standards in mind, I narrowed my choices to one perfect college.

After graduating high school, no one prepares you for college. Most kids when they are finished with high school don’t even fantasize about going back to school. I have always wanted to go to college ever since I was a young kid. I also had dreams of myself going to college, but in my dreams, everything was picture perfect. In reality, college has been very challenging for me. No one tells you about the adjustments and complications that you would have to face to become a successful college student.

How can some people struggle when they have a degree from a quality institution, while others can be successful without a college degree or in a field unrelated to their degree? In my opinion, it’s because a college education doesn’t guarantee success. Success is up to many other factors that college often does not teach. I believe that certification tests would be a better replacement for the BA, because they would separate the students with the will and determination from those who are just coasting their way through their courses. Having other forms of means like certification tests would better implement employers with the important resources in determining whether or not applicants for any given job position hold the best

In life we are forced to go through things and overcome obstacles. My life hasn't been the easiest, I've always wanted to succeed in life and have a great future. My mom has always told me try my hardest no matter what life throws at you, and I really took that to heart. I always thought that if I didn't have wonderful grades, I was automatically stupid. Ive struggled a lot in my academics but overcame those struggles and became content with them eventually.

College 101 has been a very informative class. It has taught me a lot about college and the changes you have to make while attending college. I learned a lot about certain programs that the school offers, I knew nothing about these programs before I took this class and I probably never would have known anything about them if I never would have taken this class. In this class I have learned about three important concepts that can be very useful throughout my college years to come. I think time management, determining values and balancing lifestyles are the three most important concepts you need to help you succeed in college.

This scholarship stood out to me promarily because many people read the name and began to describe the tyings they've accomplished. To me, being an eighteen year old high school graduate and certified nursing assistant along with being in college full time, I am my biggest success. Everything thag I have accomploshed throughout the years has made me who I am today. I look at myself a being success because i work hard to get where im going. I love carinf for people and expanding my knowledge about healthcare, also finding ways to make a difference in others lives.

We all have struggles in life but we can all overcome them. “ You may see me struggle, but you will never see me quit “ , “ The secret to our success is to never, never give up “ , All throughout high school i will remind myself to NEVER give up because if i give up trying to accomplish my goal then i won't be successful in life or not have the career i want. One of my strengths is working independently. Me working hard will help me finish my work and will help me finish school with good grades, graduate high school maybe with a diploma and the diploma will help my future by getting to choose a college that will help me properly get ready for my future career.

Different people wish to attain kinds of success but in order to fulfill your first success, college is a very important step and part to start with. Besides you need to make the necessary scarifies to accomplish you goals, your motivation and studies are also very important because your studies are dependent upon your motivation. A goal of this kind will determining the direction and degree of your motivation for itself and it can also make the different between success and failure.

All people can be good successful students, if they try hard and use self discipline to push them self harder. Being a successful student doesn't mean you are so smart you get to skip grades, it just means that you get good marks, work well with others, and don't get held back any grades. If you are a person who wants to keep your life on track, it takes hard work, determination, and patience.

The success of a college education has held a vast amount of worth upon several. For the ones who push themselves past their limits in order to stay on course and graduate, in return becomes worthwhile. The value and product of a successful college education, increases the amount of growth and flexibility within a career. Having this type of education shows potential employers that one is more than qualified, studied and capable to make decisions using critical thinking under each and every circumstance. Acquiring a degree is the initial setup for the success of self-empowerment to continue with the confidence of a college graduate. Surpassing the requirements and examinations, having a degree in hand can only produce a heavier worth upon the effort, time, and sacrifice exerted into one’s work.
