Success is a product of productivity. Without being productive, it is impossible to truly attain success. Productivity is a cycle, a never ending chain of events, necessary to be successful. In order to be productive, there needs to be a balance between school, work, and recreation. However, to create a complete perfect balance in a person’s life is inconceivable. Some may describe life as unpredictable, and full of highs and lows. A person’s reaction, however, to what life throws at them, and whether or not they work to create their ideal balance, is the key to succeeding. Several people would prefer school to be their focus, others prefer working, or socializing to be in the spotlight. It can be okay focusing on one side of the spectrum as long as there is balance. To create balance in life, and achieve success, time-management, stress management, and simply utilizing resources, are essential. Using time wisely, keeping stress levels low, and using resources can establish the cycle of productivity, creating balance in life, therefore raising the chances of success. The cycle of productivity starts with one major thing: time management. With indigent time-management skills, it is impossible to achieve success. In order to adequately manage time, a person needs to be able to have a plan that they can stick to. There should be a type of physical reminder of this plan, for example, a planner, an app, or a wall calendar. A productive person should have at least one modifiable
Over the course of my undergraduate career, I have been faced with the challenge of balancing school work around extracurricular activities and hobbies, volunteering, social time, and obligations to my job. The stress became further exacerbated when I became interested in the field of medicine, pushing myself to improve my academics and create a better balance within my life. In order to accomplish my goals, without becoming overwhelmed by the challenges I faced, I began focusing on the tasks directly at hand, rather than the entire picture. Narrowing my focus to smaller increments of time, rather than an entire semester, allowed me to stick to strict routines, while feeling less overwhelmed. In addition, I began to more efficiently manage
In December 2011 Suleyman Avci conducted a study on 508 first grade students to learn the relationship between self-regulation and the delay of gratification in doing well in academics. Most people are aware the more time they put into something the better the results will turn out and the bigger the reward will be. This theory applies to almost anything including academics. The more one studies the better they will do on a test however, not all students understand this, which explains why some students are more stressed than others. In order to perform well in school students need to set goals for the future and not get distracted by things in the present, like watching television or playing video games, instead of studying for a test. I am completely aware of this; nevertheless, it is still hard to do because my “hot system” wants the instant gratification of doing something fun rather than homework. Future success is hindered by the need for instant gratification. Students who achieve higher levels of academic success are those who realize academic rewards are more important than temporary satisfaction. Those
In life, people deal with many responsibilities but it’s important to have balance and focus so you can be successful in fulfilling the responsibilities. Shawn Johnson, the author of “Winning Balance” teaches us this lesson, her book is about focus. Being focused is important in the book because that’s how Shawn became successful, by balancing and focusing on education, training and life. School was very important to her, therefore she decided that it needed to be a big focus for her. Training was also important to Shawn and she knew she couldn’t favor one over the other if she wanted to be equally successful in both, she decided to focus on both. Her family and coaches pushed her to do her very best, and helped balance her life. It’s

Across oceans and seas, in every village, city or town, an apple falls at 9.8 meters per second squared. This fact has remained unchanged since it was discovered, and the myth of individual opportunity and the myth of gender in the United States have also stayed true to its original meaning since the beginning of the myths, only with a few minor changes. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word myth as “an idea or story defined by many people but is not true. These myths, in particular the myth of individual success and the myth of gender can give us unrealistic beliefs about the society we live in and cause psychological harm due to society’s preset gender roles that are pounded in our heads and reinforced by our peers, our families and the media. Through educating people about the realities that underlie these myths and finding ways to break free of gender roles as well as encouraging others to do the same we can start a movement to end the chains that tightly secure us to behave based on expectations.

On days that I don’t work I tend to be a little more relaxed, but I spend my free time either meal prepping or reading articles for work. Now, I know that I cannot be the only applicant who is maintaining good grades, along with having a busy schedule, but I be certain that the amount of passion and drive that I put forth in every facet of my life can’t be matched by any other applicant. I find the importance of everything that I do in my life, whether it’s studying for a big exam or taking a little bit of time to read a small article, everything has an impact on your life regardless if it is big or small. I’ve realized if you only focus on what you perceive as the larger things simply because they provide a more substantial reward, that you will miss out and not be able to succeed as much versus, when you give everything the same amount of effort. It is because of this mentality that I put for the same effort in everything that I do. My final exam scores are a great example of
Timothy Ferriss, public speaker and author of The 4-Hour Workweek, once wrote, “Focus on being productive instead of busy.” Looking at work through this positive lens is not easy, but there's certainly a lot to gain when you're getting quality work done. The strategy to this is simple: you have to use your time wisely and be organized, which all boils down to managing all your tasks efficiently.

“A key motivation of The Success Equation: Untangling Skill and Luck in Business, Sports, and Investing” (Mauboussin). While reading the article, “The Success Equation: Untangling Skill and Luck in Business, Sports, and Investing” I found this statement to be very interesting, mainly because I am still deciding between whether I would like to focus my concentration on sports management or finance. Even though I have a strong suit in mathematics, I always been inspired by those in the sports industry. All in all, while reading the article I found a range of information that would be beneficial in both sports management and finance fields, ranging from skills that investors should have when investing to decision making skills that are made by those in the sports industry.
It doesn’t matter if they are a businessperson, an artist, a successful athlete, or an inventor. They all have the attitude and qualities to rise above their own personal troubles and to see things others can’t or don’t see.
When people talked about the leaders of some famous companies, they firmly believed that these leaders leadership talent is born. In the book “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success”, Carol S. Dweck discussed the fix mindset and growth mindset how to affect themes such as sports, business, relationships, and parents. Leaders with fixed mindset feel that they are superman or a genius, consider that employee who has more ability be more useful than the person who work hard and want to grow. Also, they also believe their company will not be defeated and replace. On the other side, leaders with a growth mindset preferred many people can become an excellent leader by hard-working and learn how to select people: for their mindset, not their pedigrees. Although both mindsets can make a leader successful, the growth mindset person gained more success in business, since they have true self-confidence and think they are not excellent but try their best to learn, credit and nurture. They also know how to use feedback to strengthen their leadership and arrange the company 's employees appropriately. In the teamwork, they will work to solve the problem with staff quickly. They notice their improvement in their employees on the management side and also believe themselves can be educated in negotiation abilities.
