23 T he steadfast adherence to the same, routine, principles or course what can define consistency. As you move up in ranks in your life, you need to be consistent in your methods, habits and ways of thinking. Consistency starts with how you actually live your live on a day-to-day basis. “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”-Robert Collier “In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.” - Anthony Robbins “Daily, consistent, focused, faithful expectation raises the miracle power of achieving your dreams.” -John Di Lemme Whatever you do during your day sends signals back to yourself about what kind of person you are. Do the right thing like being effective, kind or repeat the good habits over and over. The three quotes shared above teach us that success is anchored in maintaining achievement. Practice in advance before going to the game. Focus on the process and you will be a lot more relaxed and prone to continue than if you stare yourself blind on the potential results that never come as quickly as you want to and puts you on an emotional rollercoaster from day to day. Once there were two friends, a Hare and a Tortoise. The Hare was known for his swiftness and the Tortoise was known for his sluggishness. The Tortoise was extremely slow. One day, as they chatted, the hare began making fun of the
“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”
Encouragement plays a significant role in my success. Without encouragement, the achievement won't come true. Juliet Ferking, the author of "A Drive to Achieve the Extraordinary" from This I Believe: Life Lessons, tells her story about
“Greatness and nearsightedness are incompatible. Meaningful achievement depends on lifting one's sights and pushing toward the horizon.” This is a quote by Daniel Pink. One can only achieve greatness, once they put in work and time that is acquired. There is a goal that must be set and to be accomplished.
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them…” -Henry David Thoreau. This quote means that you can be a dreamer and have wondrous ambitions but that will all go to waste unless effort is put towards that ambition. I agree with this statement because people can have the most amazing goals but go no where without the required effort.
ATTITUDE: Always have a positive attitude. Remember success is 10% ability and 90% attitude! If you think that you can achieve, then you can achieve.
Vince Lombardi once said, “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will.” Most people throughout the world strive for success in whatever they may be doing, and along with this, many reasons contribute to why success is achieved or not. If a person does not succeed, they may automatically blame themselves because of their level of strength. Others may blame themselves for not having enough knowledge about what they are trying to succeed at. The real reason that people may not succeed, however, is their low level of will, determination, and happiness. Both knowledge and strength combine to help a person succeed because of the will and determination that
Do one thing for yourself every day. Be accountable to you. If you become stagnant, then do something different,” Watkins said.
In my own life, a motto that has stuck with me is, you only fail if you do not try.
“Fly in the plane of ambition and land in the airport of success. Luck is yours, wish is mine. May your future always shine! Good luck.”
Through the Merrimack College Commencement speech by Professor Charlie Day, “You cannot succeed without the risk of failure, you cannot have
One quote a person says can change the rest of one's’ life. More specifically, Bo Jackson, famous National Football League running back and Major League Baseball player has had his fair share of both success and well spoken quotes. Jackson had the ability to be a hall of famer in both of the sports, as he was one of the hardest workers to play the game and refused to be satisfied with anything less than superp. Bo Jackson’s once said,” Set your goals high and don’t stop till you get there,” contained some of the most inspirational words to flow out of a person’s mouth. This quote demands the people to set their goals high, work relentlessly until their goal is achieved, and to be ambitious.
One thing that my father told me, actually a couple times, was “if you put in the work, no one can question that”. This meant a lot to me as I really thought about this and analysed it in my head. What he meant, or how I perceived it was, that you may or may not get to where you want to be in life, but nobody can question the work that you put in to get to where you want to be, or where you are right now, and this as with many other things was very, well, inspiring. That is, if you want to put it that way, and this is one of my very reasons for motivation and it helps me build confidence. Knowing this, I have high hopes that these lessons that I have learned throughout my time on this earth so far can benefit my well-being, as well as any of the peers around me, so that I can lead through my
“Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself” (Roy, n.d)
“When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
Personally I find being calm and collected works best for my performance, in order to get into this state of mind I find it better not to think about the stakes of the game.
