Finding out that a loved one has intentionally ended their life is a hard situation to cope with. You feel it’s your fault because you didn’t prevent it from happening to the individual that you loved and cared about. Suicide is when an individual deliberately takes their own life for personal reasons that some may not be able to understand. (Facts about Suicide). Suicide can happen when someone has been planning or does it on a sudden impulse. There are multiple factors that can play a role in someone’s suicide, though there are similarities between people’s reasons. Individuals have decided to take their lives because of feelings of stress or depression, educational stresses, and abuse. If people know the signs of someone contemplating or wanting to commit suicide, then they can provide several resources they can use to receive help, such as National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, counselors, and general practitioners. Feelings of stress and depression are only a couple out of several factors that play a role in suicide. Imagine a day where you felt like you couldn’t go on. Now imagine that day never ended. That is what life feels like for those that decide to no longer be apart of this world. Suicide is the easy way out. It’s easier to sleep than it is to be awake. It’s easier to bury problems than to face them. It’s easy not having to make decisions.
