Throughout history , nursing has existed for a long time and is continuously changing through time. It is one of the more important occupation worldwide and has a wide range of occupational duties. In modern times, nursing is known as one of the largest health professions with more than 3 million nurses from registered nurses to nurse practitioners nationwide. It is a profession that focuses on the care of individuals as well as families to help maintain and recover optimal health and quality of life. You must also be a licensed registered nurse and pass a national certification exam before getting higher education in advanced practices as well as a science background.There are numerous certification exams available for nurse practitioners because of the large populations they may work with. There is no training for this career choice, however there are certain qualities that are needed to fulfill the job. The important qualities include critical thinking skills, compassion, resourcefulness, detail oriented, leadership skills and communication skills which are key to ensure proper care. Any career as an APRN is an advancement itself because it's a “promotion” in one's career which is why most decide to stay in the role they’ve pursued.
