You may have been asked if your job is next with the recent outbreak of shipping American jobs overseas. Lately, all of the corporate talk is about outsourcing and how it’s helping American companies grow, but what is not talked about is how it’s going to effect the American economy in the next few years and what should be done to stop it. Outsourcing is a modern plague that is killing the American dream. Its long-term effect is catastrophically damaging to the American economy and Americans need to step up their educational expectations, skill sets and motivation if they are to keep that long-fought for dream alive. In order to change the detrimental effects of outsourcing on the American economy, concentrating more on improving the education of its children is of dire need. American schooling should be on the same level as any other technologically advanced country, like that of China or India. Longer hours, extensive schooling, and a more rigid schedule will create the focus again that is now a numbed, dull hum in the ears of America. Pushing higher expectations will push higher standards, and by default higher skill sets, that will increasingly drive the glory that was once America’s dream to have a solid future. It is important to instill that long sought for dream into our children. Working hard towards something wanted; something needed, not only makes that achievement more rewarding in the end, it shows that hard work pays off. When you work towards a goal you get more than just that goal in the end. You get a sense of worth, a better knowledge of the process it took to achieve that goal and you walk away with a skill chiseled in detail. People are not born with skills, they are practiced by being pushed and molded until the skill is
