In Chapter 2 of Encountering the New Testament the author talks about a few of the different practices that unified the Jews as well the different religious groups that had different beliefs. Judaism was unified in the beliefs that they had been chosen by God, they were waiting for the messiah to come, they respect the synagogues, they shared the same laws and traditions of elder. Although these beliefs were unifying there were seperate religious groups and leaders that held different beliefs. Probably the most well known group of religious leaders were the Pharisees. 1. Chapters one through three of Genesis are very historic in the Bible. I know the whole Bible is historic, but the first chapters of Genesis are essential to Christianity. These chapters touch base on the six days of creation, the things that are on the Earth today, and how sin entered the world. In chapter one, God is the supreme creator of the Heavens and Earth. The Earth today is inhabited by the human race, but before creation is was surrounded in darkness. The first thing God did was create light and separate it from the darkness. The Bible is a sacred book of scriptures that Christians and people of the Jewish faith believe is the written account of the word of God. Many different authors composed the works that make up the Bible. It is said that Jesus Christ is the son God who was sent to be the Lord and Savior of all people. Many Christians and Jewish people believe the Bible is the way of life. Those who believe and follow the beliefs of the Bible and God’s word will have eternal life if they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The Bible has been in print and given to others for hundreds of years. The first King James Bible was published back in the year 1611. Within the King James Version, it used to contain what are now known as the canons. A biblical canon is a set or series of related books. The canons, within the King James Version, these were called the books of the apocrypha. Apocrypha means ‘hide away’ in Greek. The apocrypha is a collection of books that were located in between the Old Testament and the New Testament. For over 270 years, the books of the apocrypha were published in the King James Version of the Bible.

We are currently revising the scripture of Romans. I was assigned Romans 15: 1- 13. The whole assignment was meant for us to get a deeper understanding of this passage. Our teacher, Mr.Handle gave us 5 sources to look into to get as much information needed. The first assignment was to create an outline that would guide us through the essay. The next assignment was to copy and paste a word for word copy of our passage and a thought for thought copy and read over it and notice the difference in scripture. The Bible, one of the world’s most ancient works of literature established into a book several years ago, can be debated to be true or false. However, whether or not it is doesn’t matter because either way it is incredibly fascinating. There are some truths and mysterious secrets embedded within the Bible. I believe the Bible should be taken figuratively rather than literally. To think that a group of writers from the ancient past had integrated stories with important morals and philosophies. The Bible has remained relevant for centuries and unfortunately has been neglected by the ignorance by the generations of today. Believe it or not, languages and popular phrases have been passed from the Bible and they may not even realize it.

I love the passages of comfort because its telling you where you can look on the bible vesicle’s that will help you manage any situation you might be going thru at the moment. Not only sad or bad situations but happy and thankful emotions you might be experiencing at the time. Having God as our main priority in our life it’s a blessing because when we follow his path things will fall into place. At least for me that’s how it works.

The homily presented in chapter nine of William Reese’s Christian Theology dives into the theme of ethics. The children’s father created a rule about not seeing PG-13 or R rated movies, but the boys attempted to find loopholes for this rule. Because they created a list of pros and cons and insisted on seeing a certain PG-13 or R rated movie, the father became extreme. He baked some excellent brownies that contained a small amount of dog poop, and he told his children they could see the movie with trace amounts of profanity if they could look past the trace amount of dog poop in the brownies and eat one. The author expresses the theme of ethics in a shocking way by possibly disgusting his readers, but he forces them to look for the underlying message, which is that God wouldn’t want his followers to allow evil in to their lives simply because there is some goodness involved.

REPORTER: The reporter/ Social Worker (Crystal) called with concerns for the victim, Ezekiel. Ezekiel has suffered from a stroke, encephalopathy, and his new baseline is that he’s alert but oriented to self only. The reporter said Ezekiel knows who he is, but he gets confused. Firstly, I would like to speak of my journey to change, rectify, or should I say modify my behavior. The behavior I wished to modify is the behavior of spending time to grow in the spiritual realm. This is a rather personal subject so I will try to be superficial, but maybe not too superficial. I do not wish to lose the essence or profoundness of the journey.

There were at least 3 views of how the Old Testament was composed which include the critical view, the compositional view, and the common view. Each view was somewhat similar and different in the aspects that gave it it's own characteristics. The main point of this discussion is to focus on the similarities and differences of each view which are but not limited to how the bible was created, the process, and design.
