The main goal of Social Work practice is the psychosocial improvement of the individuals within a system and the system where they operate. Social Work has three different concentrations, Micro practice, Mezzo practice and Macro practice. Micro practice focuses on individual and small groups such as couples, families and groups. This practice is more direct or face to face intervention. Mezzo practice focuses in medium communities, it can be face to face or indirect practice. And Macro practice focuses on larger systems such as organizations, institutions, regions and countries. In this paper I will compare the role of Social Work intervention in Jose’s situation, young Hispanic LGBT, and the current situation of the LBGT community from the
The parties involved in the case were all knowledgeable about the responsibility of a social worker. Since the two ladies are social workers and Celia being an intern social worker student; they are all aware of the NASW code of ethics they should be following with their patients and at their worksite. Joel tends to orient himself toward students that are like himself in several aspects. First, he tends to orient himself toward other bright students in his class. The roughly ten students that Joel was observed spending his time with were reported to be some of the brightest in the class. After an activity where Joel was asked to draw himself and the students in his class that are “closest to” him, Joel drew several students that he said were smart. Secondly, Joel tends to orient himself to students that have shared similar experiences. One of the students Joel drew in the previous activity also had a father who was a Naval captain on a different boat. Joel said that, “He knows what it’s like.” Similarly, Joel was described by his mother as someone who frequently wants to be friends with any new student. This is likely due to the fact that Joel has experienced how difficult adjusting to a new school can be, and he can relate to how these other new students feel. They too would know what it’s like.

I believe when he saw the Japanese prints that he bought, he enjoyed and became curious about Japanese art, stemming away from Western art. I believe that he saw Japan’s art as masterpieces that deserved to be studied and emulated. Upon looking at his art, I notice that they seem untraditional, breaking away from the rigidity of art.
