In the essay “The Joy of Reading and Writing: Superman and Me,” Sherman Alexie tells us how an Indian boy sees himself differently from the other Indians because he grew to be successful not a failure. Alexie describes that he lives on the Spokane Indian Reservation and his family was very poor. He illustrates his love of books was his father who made him see the world in paragraphs.
