The Diary of Anne Frank, is a book of the writings from the Dutch language diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. The family was apprehended in 1944, and Anne Frank died of typhus in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945. The diary was retrieved by Miep Gies, who gave it to Anne's father, Otto Frank, the family's only known survivor, just after the war was over. The diary has since been published in more than 60 languages. In August 1944, they were discovered and deported to Nazi concentration camps. They were long thought to have been betrayed, although there are indications that their discovery may have been accidental, that the police raid had actually targeted "ration fraud".Of the eight people, only Otto Frank survived the war. Anne died when she was 15 years old in Bergen-Belsen, from typhus. The exact date of her death is unknown, and has long been believed to be in early March, a few weeks before the prisoners were liberated by British troops in April 1945. However, new research in 2015 indicated that Anne may have died in February. Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who lived and died during the Holocaust. The Frank family hid from the Nazis for two long years in a Secret Annex at the back of a warehouse. During that time, Anne kept a diary in which she not only wrote about the horrors of war but the everyday problems of being a teenager. Selected for labor due to
The events recounted in Anne Frank’s Diary took place during World War 11. By 1933, the strongest party in Germany had gained ultimate power with Hitler under their command. Hitler was Germany’s dictator who spread his gospel of racial hatred through politics. While poverty and unemployment were at an all time high he launched a campaign of anti-Semitism. Hitler’s main target was the Jews, claiming that they were “racially inferior.” He developed an idea of a Master Aryan Race, the need to rid Germany of “inferior people”, such as Jews and Gypsies, and the need to expand Germany’s borders. In doing this, he caused many Jews to abandoned their homes and go into total isolation. The Frank family

After seeing the film and reading the text I learned a lot of information on what a Jews life in hiding was like. Both impacted me deeply but seeing the film was more impactful for me. In the film you could see what their living situation was like so you could get a better understanding of what being in hiding was like, it might not have been a exact replica of what it really was like but you still got a good idea of it. Also you could see the characters feelings and emotions. This helped the viewers know what they were feeling in a certain moment in time. So while both were very interesting I was more in favor of the Film over the Text, it add more elements to the story for me.
In the second entry of Anne Frank's diary, Margot got a call-up from the SS, which forced the Franks to go into hiding in fear of their future. After Otto Frank came home, "Margot and I started packing our most important belongings into a schoolbag" (Frank para. 15). Margot and Anne went packing after their Father told them they were going into hiding. This was the same day that Margot got called-up.
She and her sister Margot were both transferred in a cattle car on a three day train ride into Bergen Belsen in October of 1944. Anne was only 15 years old and her sister was 19 when the arrived . Anne Frank wrote a diary about her life. Later they found her diary and it became a treasured record of the Holocaust. Anne Franks journal is very important because only a few prisoners wrote diaries during the Holocaust. In her diary she recorded her fears, hopes, and experiences. They found the diary in a secret apartment after her family had be arrested. The diary was kept by Miep Gies one of the people who helped Anne hide. Anne and her sister both died in January of 1945 from typhus just a few weeks before the camp was
Adolf Hitler was a horrible man, and he made Jew's lives horrible. Killing and torturing more than 6 million, just because they’re Jewish. The drama by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett shows that Anne Frank and 7 others crammed themselves into a secret annex building for 25 months straight. Little did they know, their few month hiding place became a few year hiding place. Hiding from the Nazis, the 8 always lived in faltering hope that the Allied Forces would come and save them from Hitler’s reign of terror. The historical events in The Diary of Anne Frank changed the behaviors of the characters as well as the relationships between characters.
She and her family were in hiding behind a bookcase in a secret Annex. In this secret room there had not only been Anne’s family members, but four other Jewish people. It was impossible to find out where the Frank family was hiding unless someone told us, nobody knows who the betrayer was that leaked the secret. On September 4, 1944, the Frank family and four others were deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Anne, her sister and also her mother stuck together to support each other. On October 28, 1944 Anne and her sister were transported to Bergen-Belsen Camp where they died of a typhoid epidemic disease. Their mother and father stayed in Auschwitz and afterwards the mother died. Anne’s father carried on and survived The Holocaust. He later decided to get Anne 's diary published in 1947. Though the Americans came and killed Hitler he still accomplished his task by wiping out thousands of Jews
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl described the ordeal of a young girl named Anne Frank. The diary was written over a period of two years. She obtained her diary on her thirteenth birthday and she cherished it very much. At first, she wrote about her life in Amsterdam and lightly described the movement against the Jews. However, “After May 1940 good times rapidly fled: first the war, then the capitulation, followed by the arrival of the Germans, which is when the sufferings of us Jews really began” (Frank 6/20/42). When the Nazis called to take Margot away on Thursday, 9 July, 1942, Anne and her family moved with the Van Daans and their son to the “Secret Annexe.” The "Secret Annexe" were a few rooms hidden behind Mr. Frank’s old office.
Have you ever heard of the Holocaust? The Holocaust was a terrible time in history when Adolf Hitler was torturing many innocent Jews. He put them in concentration camps, but many tried to hid just like Anne Frank and her family. Anne Frank who was Jew, has a famous quote that says “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Even though throughout the “Diary of Anne Frank” we see that people are not always the best they could be, I agree with Anne and believe that everyone is still good at heart. One overall reason I chose that people are really good at heart are the acts of kindness Peter has throughout the book to Anne. However, I do know that there are two sides of an argument, I can see how some might
The play version of The Diary of Anne Frank tells the story of how Anne and her family are trying to hide from the Natzis in a secret annex in Amsterdam. In this play, Anne has a diary that explains what was happening all around her. Recently a movie has been released about Anneś experiences with the holocaust. In this movie the audience sees how Anne was cooped up in an attic for over 2 years with many other people. Although the play and the movie differ in the settings and the organization, both have the same characters.
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl should be used as a library book for many reasons. First, Anne Frank provides inspiring messages throughout the diary. Anne´s inspiring themes include perseverance and positivity. On March 7, 1944, Anne says, ¨Think of all the beauty in the world and be happy!¨ These would be good for a library because students in need of inspiration could receive the diary quicker. Also, there are some topics in the diary that are not appropriate for a classroom setting. In the January 5, 1944 entry, Anne talks about her puberty, which would not be on task in a classroom. Anne also talks about romance in some entries, which is also off task. Finally, on my timeline research, a majority of the entries were not
Did you know that millions of jews were murdered during the Holocaust. It's true, uncountable amounts of jews
To begin with, Anne Frank, the author of “The Diary of Anne Frank”, believed, in her own mindset, that no one understood who she was and that made her struggle because she felt much more different than everyone else that lived in the Annexe. The only way that Anne could escape feeling this way is by writing in her diary about all the things that she felt or about the things that were happening to her in her life. As well in “Freedom Writers”, Eva, a student, believed that no one understood what she had to go through as a child and that no one could help her. Eva would always try and push people away that tried to help her, but most of the time it didn’t work. The way that Eva could escape how she felt was by being in some sort of gang with
