The song is generally about selling records and keeping your integrity as an artist. And as an artist who constantly has to promote and to some extent sell yourself in the music business it’s hard to keep that integrity and originality. The lead singer, Tyler, who has also written the lyrics tries to get his message out by just writing songs that he likes, even though people advise him not to. That can be seen especially in line 1-2. “They say stay in your lane boy, lane boy” Here Tyler describes how the music industry is trying to make him go in down a specific path and not experiment with his music. The phrase ‘Lane boy’ is a metaphor for the mainstream artists who just follow the classic temple and releases a one hit wonder. After that
This song represents the talents that i have and what I have that we call determination. the song is fun and addicting for the whole family and more. Talent is tricky subject to get into, because this can go into many categories. I don't have many talents, but i get by and get the job done. In oak hill high school i was a silent and did not interact with anyone during class and man did i have bad acne. That's in the past and I grew confidence and i'm a manager at kfc. So things are not bad as their were back in the day when i was young and free. That's not the subject at hand, talents are really helpful and can entertain for years to come. Having no talent would make a person into that business guy that nobody likes. I mean nobody wants to be left out (except emos). The artist artist 009 sound system can be a good contender on what a person wants to be when the grow up and goto college” You can do anything you want to” that phrase helps represents the talent of adapting which I found out to be the most helpful to me. anyways talent can be a major part of like and should be taken seriously one day that talent can get that job the everyone else
That is the thing that makes the song so relatable in light of the fact that everybody needs to be glad. They need to carry out an occupation that makes them upbeat, need a partner that makes them cheerful or even need stability or a blend of all. Happiness is more vital than the vast majority willing to admit, if an individual is happy they can be calm with everything else that is happening in life. Again, Kid Cudi stating his lyrics as “People told me slow my roll, I`m screaming out f*** that; Lookin` ahead no turnin` back; If I fall, if I die, I know I lived it to the fullest… and missed some bullets”. In other words, this song had some tragic verse and this particular verse concentrates on how accomplishing is imperative yet the trip may not be simple or as captivating of course. There will be numerous parts of life that are not clear or are disingenuous, but rather it is all justified, despite all the troubles. The chorus defines this by starting, “I`m on the pursuit of happiness and I know, Everything that shines ain`t always gonna be gold And I`ll be fine once I get it, I`ll be good”. Correspondingly, Kid Cudi using his life and his fame to describe that despite the fact that he needs satisfaction he may not get it and is content with that regardless of the struggle pursuing it. He even shows regret for his substance mishandle driven way of life with the lyrics,
This is what they call imagery. The singer is saying be yourself do not follow others, be yourself and don’t let your perse stop you. Later on in the song it say,”The ice we skate is getting pretty thin/ The water’s getting warm so you might as well swim/ My worlds on fire. How about yours/ That’s the way I like it and i’ll never get bored.” (Smash Mouth) This entire line of the song describes stress and it will try to stop you from being you, but when he rose up and he made a difference and forgot all about the stress he once had. The first part of the lyric is a simile. The final lyric in the song that is important is,” Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas/ I need to get myself away from this place/ I said yep, what a concept/I could use a little fuel myself/ And we could all use a little change.”( Smash Mouth) What he means by this is people ask him what he did to become this famous and he said,”you have to follow your dreams.” This is an example of a
My first impression of the song “Cool Kids” by Echosmith was the fact that it is so depressing. “Cool Kids” mood is definitely longing and wistfulness, kids wanting to be “cool”. Lyrics that stood out to me include “but hers is falling behind”, “in the background”, “seem to fit in”, “but they haven't got a clue”, and “can't see what he is going through”. These lyrics caught my attention because they describe the way the “not-so-cool” kids feel. Popular kids often feel as though they need to keep a front; a reputation.
The song “Dirt” by Florida Georgia Line is not a song that you tap your foot to or a song that makes you want to get up and dance. It’s a song that builds a heap of emotion in your soul and pulls you back to your childhood and reminds you about a place called home. It forces you to clench your fist as if you had been struck by a melody of truth. “Dirt” compels you to reflect upon your life’s story and reminisce about the memories that shaped you on the piece of dirt you call home.
A significant theme presented throughout the whole song is loneliness. The thought of being lonely and feeling isolated is not desirable and can trigger an individual's feeling of low self worth which can then lead to more severe mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The lyric “I walk a lonely road” demonstrates the loneliness the composer, Billie feels as he implies that he is
The conflict in this song is another piece of the song I can relate with. The conflict of this song is person versus self. “If you think you’ve had too much / Of this life, well hang on.” This refers to a person who is struggling to push herself or himself to keep going. I relate with this because I go to High School. With all of the drama and rumors that goes on, it makes me want to give up, but I have to hold on. Overall, I can relate to the conflict in this song.
The first verse of the song shares the troubled relationship between the father and son, when it said, “he came to the world in the usual way, but there were planes to catch and bills to pay. He learned to walk while I was away.” This verse explained that he was away on some type of career to make money for the family, and provide for the son financially. However, he wasn’t able to spend quality time with him, and missed important milestones in his life, such as taking his first steps. His career obviously came before his son and family, and he made excuses for that. Then it finishes with the chorus, which says, “when you
This lyric plays into the image of Amiee I have. Amiee isn't looking to be the judge of other's people's lives. She does her thing and others do theirs. It an interesting thought after you find out how much the music industry beat her up and how almost none calaunt her pursuit of music can seem. Now please don't see this as me passing judgment on Amiee because she is a hard worker
In the first verse of the song he asks, “Would you spit in Little Lucy’s face because she watches the movie Frozen and she wants to be a princess even though Disney employs nearly genocidal business practices?” He wants to know why we are so fixated on becoming something so unrealistic instead of focusing on what is real. We are conditioned to think or act a certain way from the moment we are conceived leading up to our death. We only see what those around us want us to see and are brainwashed into believing it is the truth. This is the message that this album is trying so hard to get across. He is showing us the truth that most people turn their heads to through his
The lyrics in the song tell us of how that even though slaver no is allowed it is not forgotten. That while black are free that still are repressed by society.
I have let down my religion, my family, my town and above all, my name. The one I was honourably given which will never be changed. I cannot bare this for any longer, the people despise of me, oh god forgive me. My sons, my sons oh what do they think of me, they must feel ashamed and embarrassed and who is to blame but me. Through the rusted steel bars of my cell I see the bitterness of once proud young men, my boys who I taught so well and raised them with so much respect, walking, with their heads down, the one thing that I told them never to do was feel less than anyone else, and here they are with no choice but to lower there gaze due to mere embarrassment. Oh god, what have I done to them. I never had intentions to do this. I have been
Music is a really powerful thing that should not be taken lightly nor underestimated. Every song has the ability to explore themes and issues in society through lyrics and music videos. In December of 2013, successful singer songwriter Beyoncé Knowles came out with a lyrically challenging song, "Pretty Hurts" which exposes the reality of the pageant world and in turn, the real world. The combination of techniques and conventions used in both the lyrics and the music video such as camera angles and symbolism are successfully used to create an effective song which reveals the harsh reality of society, the high standards placed upon women to be 'beautiful' and 'pretty' and the lengths young women go to just to fit in and the consequences of this.
As a kid, I never dreamed of a mansion, a million dollars, a butler, and maid, or any of those “designer dreams.” I always wanted to live in the country, on a farm with a couple acres of land. Now, I dream of a job where I can travel or be outdoors. This past summer, if I wasn’t working, I was walking on a nearby trail or biking. I spent a week at a camp where I had to the opportunity to go on hikes every day, rock climbing over Devil’s Lake, whitewater rafting, and mountain biking. I had always loved the outdoors and nature, but this love has been growing into a passion.
“Roam in the wide world”, the first line of my second stanza, does not have a clear subject to the verb “roam”. It seems to refer to the phrase “the hazy glow” from the last line from my first stanza. By putting a period after the last line of my first stanza, the first stanza would be more independent. But I found out my first two line of my second stanza does not have a subject. To fit this I changed the verbs “roam” and “stamp” to the adjective “roaming” and “stamping”. Then, I deleted “Pleasing odors suffuse her little wonderland” in order to have a more logical connection of line one and two to the rest of the lines in the second stanza. So the adjective “roaming” and “stamping” could better modify the subject
