“A Rose For Emily, William Faulikner tells a story of a woman who was extremely sheltered life when she was younger. You learn through out about how Emily can not adapt to change. William Faulkner uses “A Rose for Emily to comment on how the South refuses change. If the South does not adapt to the change, it will die a lonely like just like Miss Emily. The story mostly took place in Emily’s old rundown house, which was in an old town, post civil war in Mississippi. Emily’s family was once a southern aristocracy. Her families were leaders in their community, and were very wealthy. After the Civil War, the economy had a downfall and a lot of people had lost their money. Which could have been the cause for Emily’s family
