There were two organizations that were cohosting this advocacy event. They were Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky as well as All-Options. They cohosted because both have the same goals of changing the laws, stigma, and access of abortion. Planned Parenthood a nonprofit organization that conducts research and gives advice on topics such as contraception, family planning, and lastly reproductive problems. Planned parenthood was founded in October of 1916. Founder Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood which also made her known for making America’s first birth control clinic(“Research, Statistics, and History on Abortion & Human Rights”). Margaret Sanger created these clinics for females who wanted to get special help from nurses and doctors on abortions, diseases, medication for the female reproductive system and more.(“The Washington Post”).

Republican Senator Ted Cruz believes that leaders are lying about wanting to defund Planned Parenthood, or PPFA. Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization centered on helping those with sex education and healthcare. There are many misconceptions about Planned Parenthood that people like Ted Cruz are not willing to look into. Shutting down the healthcare organization could greatly affect adults and youths all over America. If Cruz were successful in shutting down Planned Parenthood, millions of people would be without any form of healthcare, millions of women would no longer have the option of free health exams, and the United States’ youths could be at risk because many of them would live in ignorance about their health.

(PPFA), better known as Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization that provides reproductive healthcare and education in the United States and globally. Founded by Martha Sanger and Ethel Byrne, Planned Parenthood (PPFA) is a nonprofit organization which provides reproductive health services in Africa as well as North, Central and South America. Over 650 clinics across the nation provide a collective four million medical visits annually.10 PPFA, one of the largest reproductive health providers, bestows economically challenged citizens with health care that was previously unaffordable. I visited a Planned Parenthood Agency located in Dallas. The services that they provide are: birth control including emergency contraception, breast cancer screening, referrals Pap tests including cervical cancer screening, urinary tract infection treatment, HIV testing & counseling, pregnancy testing & pregnancy options information, men’s sexual health services including vasectomy, HPV vaccine & testing information about abortion, pelvic exams and STD testing & treatment.

David Daleiden is the founder of Center of Medical Progress, wrote on Facebook that the agents "seized all video footage showing Planned Parenthood's criminal trade in aborted baby parts, in addition to my personal information."

The specific government spending program I have decided to talk about today is Panned Parenthood. This is one of the biggest issues in America due to the constant links between planned parenthood1. Planned parenthood, though funded by society, is also funded by the government. For many it is also considered basic health care for women. According to the Washington Post (2015) Planned Parenthood received $528.4 million from the government (this does include state, local, and federal money). That number makes it (the government) the largest funder for PP (planned parenthood) in 2014.
