School is a institution to teach and educate children. It is one of the most important parts of your lives for many reasons. Also, it leads to your future career, lifestyle, home, money, and much more. Although school might not be interesting to all, it is definitely helpful to people for many reasons. School can make you learn new things, experience new opportunities, and achieve goals. Without school, the world would not be a efficient as it is, there would not be new inventions, or ideas. This is why, schools should be more than its average days, 180. Which is why, school should be year round, still having breaks in between due to the fact that it can cause many amazing things.

Many people look forward to their March Break. However, March break can be boring if you sit in the house the whole time. The good news is that there are many things that you can do in order to keep yourself occupied during March break. Below is a list of things that you can do during March break:

This spring break was a very important because I was leaving for Chicago. First we went to the Peoria. We arrive at the Peoria airport and we are the only people there until we get to our gate and see at least 70-80 people. It’s gonna be a long flight. We arrive at the O’hare airport and we are late, my parents are freaking out, we have to be in a sports facility that is, over thirty minutes away and we have to be there in twenty. I learned a valuable life lesson that day, and that is to never procrastinate when something very important is present in your life. Me and my parents made that mistake and it will up hurting us in the future.

Say goodbye to the three months of summer vacation and say hello to year-round school! Year-round school has very many positive features, it can decrease summer learning loss, stress, and the United States students catch up with the rest of the world. The decrease of brain drain will improve learning, teachers won’t have to reteach the student, that’s stressful and kids will do better on the state test, so the U.S. can catch up. Year round school is killing three birds with one stone.

Many schools are considering switching to a year round school schedule. Some people might not understand what this means “ students in most Amercia year-round schools districts spend the same amount of days in class as a student in traditional schools- the days are just arranged differently, with smaller breaks throughout the year” (Mcmullen, 2001) Holton shouldn’t consider this schedule because it will not improve students learning, there is about 180 days typically required, No air conditioning.

During spring break I am looking forward to going to Florida. I am looking forward to going to Florida because I cannot wait to get in the ocean and on the beach. Also I am looking forward to getting to sleep in and not have to go to school. Also in Florida I am looking forward to hanging out with some friends from other schools. Something else I am looking forward to is being in the warm and in the pool. I also cannot wait to get tanner than I already am because I seem pale compared to what I normally look like. Do I feel that school should be year round? I feel that school should not be year round. I feel that students and staffs need breaks from each other. I feel students need free time from school and should be able to let their brain rest. I feel that students and teachers need vacation time to leave out of and do things they need to do and want to do. If school was year round I feel the dropout rate would increase, because students will get tired of going to school. I feel that people will have less time to spend with family members and friends.

Schools have been around since 1837. The first one was created by Horace Mann. He was also called, “Father of the Common School Movement” (Why was school created?). His idea was to have the teacher create a curriculum to teach to the students. School are still like this today. They’re are based off a curriculum and they must teach it in that school year. Each school year is 180 days within about nine months and three months off in the summer.

Congress has tried making all schools year round because America falls behind other countries academically. This would be fine, but for me and the other kids there are certain needs that year round schools do not understand that they’re lacking. For example, educators need time to prepare for the lessons they need to do for the next school year, taking a break from stress can nullify mental and physical damage to children, and without extended breaks kids they will be burnt out and less motivated by the start of the new year. My 2018 Spring Break was better than usual and began with a great start. For this Spring Break, I went on a Road Trip to visit different college campuses on the northern side of California, a place I had never been to. I went with my program called, LACC Upward Bound that included 34 other students. I did not attend this trip alone and this was great because my friends got to come along on this great experience with me. Arriving to Northern California took about 4- 5 hours and during this drive I took this picture. It is so different from Los Angeles, everything is much greener, beautiful and natural. Imagine coming home from school to a car fully packed waiting to go to Fort Walton, Florida. Well that's what I came home to on the last day until Spring Break. We will be going to the beach, swimming, fishing,and more when we get there! I was so excited to leave. The car drive was estimated to be only 10 hours. But on the way a lot of other people had the same idea as us on our trip. Traffic was bad on the way down. There were lots of crashes. Believe it or not there was a backup that was like 4 miles. The cars were bumper to bumper and and it was getting late. In about 30 minutes we got about 1 mile. It was awful! With the bumper to bumper traffic there was another crash. My life was great over spring break. It started with my sister turning 15 on March 10 we decorated her room, then we made her pancakes shaped like the number 15. Later that night we all went out to eat at a fancy restaurant named the cheesecake factory it was some good cheesecake. Then my friend Aidan and I had a sleepover, we played outside went to the park with our other friends like eden,cooper,gressa and olivia. The next day of spring break aidan aj and I hung out for a while. About 1:00 me and aj went golfing with our dads at canyon farms. I felt the sun shining on me, I heard the birds singing it was just a beautiful day of golfing, we played about 9 holes.

This was the moment that I have been waiting for since the beginning of my senior year. I couldn’t wait to leave cold Michigan for spring break. There was no way that I wasn’t going to Panama City Beach, Florida this year. I heard so many stories from past seniors in my school. This had me watching to go so bad that I made a countdown of how many days I had left until spring break. It was like Las Vegas but just for kids, so what happens in PCB, stays in PCB. This was the place where you would go to create the best memories of your life with your friends before everybody goes their separate ways after high school.
