All of my life, I have wanted to be a doctor, and the summer program offered by Wagner College is the perfect way for me to spend a portion of my summer. I am the youngest of three children, and my mother is divorced and has been raising us on her own for many years. My mom has always encouraged each of us to aim high and dream big, and that’s exactly what I have done. I have enjoyed science and math classes the most compared to other subjects and have excelled in both subjects as far back as I can remember. Currently, I am taking Honors Chemistry and advanced math, and I have really enjoyed both classes this year because the content is interesting and complex. Outside of class, I participate in the Science Club, which meets each week and
I believe that my scholarship, citizenship, character, and willingness to serve and lead will be a great addition to the NJHS. When completing work, I am able to finish it diligently and efficiently. Whether it be volunteering at a race for wounded veterans, or doing classwork, I do it to the best of my ability. I would like to gain service experience through the NJHS. In the leadership aspect, I have knowledge from workshops. I am able to be a leader without being controlling in small and large group activities. When working individually I am able to keep my self-control, with a teacher around or not. This includes acting in a respectful manor towards teachers and students. I treat all of my peers with kindness, respect
I have been a part of JROTC for the past four years of my high school career. During my time in the program, I gained more self-confidence and was able to venture out of my comfort zone, which allowed me to join numerous clubs and organizations throughout my high school career. The clubs include the Chess Club for one year, the Environmental Club and AFJROTC Honor Guard team for two years, and Science Olympiad all my four years of high school. The organizations include the National Technical Honor Society for two years and National Honor Society for two years as well and voted Vice President.
The reason I have graced you with my letter is to convince you why I am worthy of a scholarship and to tell you about my goals in life.
In less than eighty days, the Class of 2018 will no longer be high school students. They will be walking across the stage and taking a big jump forward into the adult world, entering a land of opportunity and choices. Some will plan to further their education by attending college or a trade school. Others will join the military, take a year off, or enter the workforce, but as Cesar Chavez, a labor leader and civil rights activist, once said “The end of all education should surely be service to others,” meaning the purpose of education should be to help others. It does not matter which path the Class of 2018 will take, but how they will help others with the path they chose to take.
The Polk State College Foundation Scholarship will help me attain my educational and career goals by providing me money to help cover the cost of my tuition and books as I continue the journey to completing my academic and career goals. For my educational goals, I want to attend Polk State College and participate in the FUSE program they offer for students who are interested in a health science career. Joining this program will educate on the human health and many other medical related discussions that affect the human system. I want to learn about the human anatomy and have hands-on experience with different experiments that correlate with the health science program. By participating in the program, I would achieve my associates at Polk

Like most young boys I grew up idolizing sport heroes, racing kids on the playground, and playing sports outside. My teams were the Cowboys, the Astros, and later on in life the Aggies. Consequentially, if you didn’t love Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio than I didn’t really like you. Although most of these decisions were made based upon my brother’s sport interest, I learned to love them in my own way. After all, my brother was the one who I played basketball with, threw the football and baseball with, and eventually the one who inspired my love for A&M and the Aggies. For all my life I can remember wanting to play sports and wanting to watch sports, but around 7th grade when my brother moved off to A&M is when I really started getting the sports bug. Visiting for home games, standing in the
I intend to use this scholarship to help pay for my tuition and books at the Southern Arizona University of Phoenix- Online. I would like to be considered for this scholarship because I have no financial help from my family. This means that I have to be able to pay for college on my own because of the fact that my father is no longer in my life, and my mom has my other siblings to take care of. My father is no longer in my life because he now lives in Mexico with his other family. I don’t have financial help from him because he has a wife and six other children. My mother would like to be able to help me, but she has two other children she’s taking care of by herself, and she has to prepare for my sister's graduation next year as well as mine this year. I plan to get a job after I graduate to help pay for the expenses of college, but since I am going online the expenses of college are going to be a lot less than if I were to go on campus, this is the main reason I am planning to go online, and to take a lot of the stress of being totally alone off myself because I will only be twenty minutes away from my family instead of an hour or two.
Robert Frost once wrote, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I, I took the one less travelled by and that has made all the difference. As a young, educated, black man I have already chosen to take the road less travelled. Life is a journey where you stumble and fall, but I elected to not become a negative statistic. While in high school I decided to start my college education early in the pursuit of bettering my mind and proving to my ancestors that their plight is being well-respected.
I am writing to thank you for your generous $1000 Osher Initiative California Community College Scholarship. I feel very honor and appreciative to be the recipient of this awards.
I am a currently a Junior, at Warren New Tech High School, and I just started my second semester. I am a hardworking student, who likes to maintain her academics, as high as possible. I used to always get A and B Honor Roll (Freshmen and Sophomore year), but so far this year I have been able to make Principal’s List, this was during my first semester. I am really hoping that I will get accepted into North Carolina State University (NCSU), it’s considered as my top choice and they have a really significant Agriculture Program. I know how important it is to actually get a scholarship, when you are applying these top colleges, especially if you don’t have a resource for that kind of money. I have gotten very interested in working with farm animals, and I have started my own farm (just chickens now, but more animals will soon come). I also work part-time at a reality, here in North Carolina, on the lake with my
Personal Statement As a curious person, I have spent my life trying to understand how things work and languages have certainly taken most of my attention. I hope to get the Fulbright scholarship in order to learn even more about how languages are learned and be able to put that knowledge in practice with my Chilean students. When the time came for me to choose a university program, there was no other option for me other than teaching. During my time in the undergraduate programme of English Teaching, I was fascinated by applied linguistics and how it intended to solve the mysteries of learning in order to make teaching more effective, and the way it studied the differences between cultures when it comes to communicating.
HEY!... This scholarship would mean the world to me as an individual, not my mom, dad or sisters, but me. I may not seem as the best writer but college is not SOMETHING but a PLACE I'm determined to start on the next semester. The struggles of high school were not and will never in vain. I've had my failures in life but that doesn't mean I'd hit rock bottom.
A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Community service and volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most.
Most of the graduates alike me don't discover their management zeal until they've knocked around the workplace for a few years. However, a core of my ambitious pre-entrepreneurial undertakings and a series of coherent roles & responsibilities made me clear that deep down I have a desire to pursue leadership roles down the lane and I believe, a master of management degree from Macquarie would acquaint me with skills and potential to work with senior business leaders to create effective strategies that deal with the pressing business issues, to become an innovator, an influencer, and a decision-maker across all areas of business.
