I wake up to the sound of my alarm reminding me, today is the big day. Today is the day! It is May 31st, the start of our full month summer vacation. I myself, get up, turn my alarm off, and walk to the kitchen to have some breakfast. I had a feeling that today was going to be a superb day. Once I finished eating breakfast, I jumped into the shower, and started to get ready for what the day had in store for us. After, my shower, I got dressed, and finished getting ready for the trip. I made sure that I was all packed and ready to go for the drive ahead of us, and the long airplane ride later that day. During this trip, my family, and I are going to be visiting our out-of-state family members. My aunt Melissa, my cousin Bryce, and I are going to be visiting Florida, Ohio, and Illinois all in a one month vacation. This trip, was one of the best trips I could ever ask for. I love to travel, and see new places around the world. But, most of all I like to be with my family, creating new memories to hold on to for years to come.
To begin the summer vacation, on May 31st, my family and I drove to the Las Vegas airport to board the plane to Florida. After, four hours in the car driving, we finally arrived at the airport with just enough time to grab some lunch, and then board the plane. "You two kiddos ready?" asks Melissa. "Yes," Bryce and I state. With around three hours of a plane ride to get through I was already tired from all the driving. So luckily, I was able to sleep
Have you ever been on a vacation? To me a vacation is a time to be with friends or family. When I think of vacations, I think of packing, the flight or drive, and relaxation. Not only is it very exciting to go on a vacation, but you get closer to the people that go with you.
In Panama City Beach, Florida, drinking on the beach during Spring Break is illegal, but that is only one month out of the year. Panama City Beach is a tourist town and it relies on people coming from all over the world to visit. The busiest months are during Spring Break and when summer vacation starts. Right now, the law only states drinking any kind of alcohol on the beach during March is illegal and bars that are on the beach front must close at 2 am. The law should be changed to include drinking on the beach during the summer months illegal. If drinking on the beach during Spring Break and the summer months was made illegal fewer people would end up dying while vacationing, less sexual assaults, it will cut down on underage drinking, and the crime rate.
Spring break is mainly a time of partying for most teenagers that go to my high school, but I was off to California with my girlfriend’s family to pretty much explore a whole other side of the U.S.
A few minutes before we landed at the airport, I looked at the screen in front of me and it showed ‘33°C’. It had been a year since I last experienced that kind of heat and I couldn’t bear it last time, so I wondered how I would cope with the heat this time. As the plane began to slow and turn into terminal, I could hear people around me start to get there belongings together so that they could get off the plane first. People returned the magazines to the rack on the back of the chair in front of them and I turned off my iPod and put it back in my bag. When I took my headphones out, I felt like I was back in the real world now as I had been concentrating on listening to music for hours. It seemed like time was going slower and slower
Calaveras Enterprise sports reporter Guy Dossi met up with Calaveras High School head track and field coach Doug Avrit Monday afternoon before practice. Dossi spoke with Avrit about the recent spring break, the Stanford Invitational and about two basketball players who are new to the team.
Fall break 2012 the beginning of my 7th grade year, I had to pack my room and leave the school I had gone to for the past 3 years. I was terrified of leaving the house I had grown fond of and the school I had gotten used to. Little did I know I would appreciate this move more than ever. I soon learned that sometimes moving means better places and people, school wise I had better opportunities and the bullying had stopped. It was probably one of the best experiences I had experienced even if I didn’t realize that at the time.
It was a cool July morning when we headed off to the Omaha airport around 5 AM. I was more than ready to be on vacation, but the thought of going through the airports alone gave me anxiety. When we arrived, the anxiety only got worse. Since it was so early in the morning, not many people were at the airport, so I was able to check my bag in right away. My mom and I headed upstairs to security, where I had to say my goodbyes. I promised myself I wouldn’t cry, but that was almost impossible when my mom was already sobbing.
My really amazing trip on spring break was going to Texas. What is your Favorite spring break trip? Here is why Texas is a good place to visit for spring break.
The opportunity to participate in the Summer Focus Program will provide me with a multitude of new experiences and challenges. The chance to participate in this program will challenge me in ways that will help me grow as a student. Being apart of this program will provide me with career guidance. I’m very interested in the science and medical field, but I’m unsure as to what I specifically want to study. The Young Scientist Program will help give me a feel of what this specific field is like. My experiences with the program will also provide me with preparation needed for college and the application process. As a soon to be rising senior, college is not too far away and guidance with the application process would help me tremendously. Participation
“Who wouldn’t be excited to go to Hawaii,” I replied. It was still dark out, it would still be an hour before the sun would start to rise. I looked to my sister who was sound asleep next to me. Twenty minutes later we arrived at the airport. We parked
Do you think that you spent your summer break productively? Some schools require that students participate in or complete summer projects. Some of these schools assign these projects themselves, and others let the students pick the activities or projects that they need to complete, but which way leads to better results? I believe that teachers assigning the projects over summer is better, because it ensures what they are doing is productive, it doesn't leave the students with all of the responsibility, and it ensures that what they are doing will actually help them remember what they need to.
500 days of summer is a story where a boy meets a girl, he falls in love with her yet she does not truly love him. The movie shows the progression of the relationship of Tom and Summer. It begins when they first meet when Summer begins working as a secretary where Tom works and progresses to them casually dating. Summer is obviously hesitant and against relationships yet Tom is overly eager to find the perfect girl. The story ultimately shows the demise and after effects of their relationship. At first thought anyone could think this is the typical love story where the movie casually progresses to them living happily ever after. This is not that kind of fairy tale love story.
The only sound that filled my ears was my keyboard clicking as my fingers raced across it. I had been procrastinating from finishing this assignment all evening, but I knew I needed to get it done. The burning sunset was shining through the windows as I was finishing up. It was a peaceful silence, until I heard the soft whispers of my parents that ignited my sense of curiosity. I was concentrating hard; doing my best trying to make out the hushed words that were being spoken.
After you choose your destination the next thing you must do is reserve your airfare and hotel. This may be tough because there are many websites and travel agents that you can go through. I have found that it is cheaper and easier to go through Expedia.com. You can book your hotel and flight all together and pay one low price. I have also found that flying with Southwest Airlines is very cheap and they have many one way stops all across the country and for a cheap hotel that is very nice I recommend the Extended Stay America.
Spending quality time with family is one of my favorite childhood memories, whether it was spending time outdoors, playing ping pong, or watching a movie. My most meaningful family memory came from our vacation to Colorado back in 2004; yes, 2004. Although I don’t remember all of the events that transpired, I’m able to recall most of the memorable events that took place. It was a cool, misty morning in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and I could distinctly hear the unmistakable elk calls that echoed through the mountains. The breeze gently scraped my face as I got into the car to begin the first day of our family vacation in Colorado. I could hear the car tires gently humming on the road during this cool, foggy, Colorado morning. As I looked past the lanky pine trees, glistening drops of dew formed on the tall grass, dancing with the wind. As we moved further down the road, I could see the tip of the sun barely begin to peek over the steep, snowy mountain peaks; however, the sun was soon covered by the misty Colorado clouds. This was it: our family vacation!
