In 2013, the Summerville Bears football program was planning for the future. They put 11 sophomores on the varsity roster, and all of them saw significant playing time. They won two games. In 2014, those 11 players helped lead the Bears to the first round of the Division V Sac-Joaquin Section Championships. Now, those 11 players are seniors and look to use their experience to bring the Mother Lode League Championship back to Tuolumne for the first time since 2009.
2015 marks the beginning of the “Sean Leveroos era.” The first-year Bears head coach inherited a roster filled with stars and playmakers.

With a new head coach comes a new offense to learn. That might be the one set back to a team with so many returning players. Offensive

“I don’t care where the coaches decide to play me,” he said. “As long as we get a ‘W’ at the end of the week. That is all that matters.”
Running back: If the Bears do decide to have Rodgers under center, then they will have one of the most skilled ball carriers lined up behind him in Fulkerson. Coming off a 2014 season where he dislocated his patella and had knee surgery in January, Fulkerson is ready to put the past behind him and enjoy his senior season. He is a player that any offensive lineman would enjoy blocking for.
“It’s great knowing that he’s going to read the blocks correctly when he has the ball in his hands,” said senior tackle Kole Elkins. “Knowing that you’ve got an experienced running back behind you is one of the best feelings for a lineman.”
Fulkerson is not the only threat the Bears have in the backfield. Senior and third year varsity player JT McCready, as well as juniors Jake Heger and Alex Prevost are expected to make an impact running the ball. The strong group of running backs has coach Mike Brennan very excited of the

“Warnock lines up great and he’s got the best stance on the defensive line. His quickness will be a major asset for our defensive front.”
Linebackers: Summerville has quite a bit of depth at linebacker. Ulvevadet will be the rock of the group, but Prevost, Hudson, and Marquez are being looked at to play to the same level as Ulvevadet.
“Ulvevadet has lost some weight from last year and has put on some lean muscle and he looks great,” said linebacker coach Matt Soto. “He is making good solid tackles and I expect him to be a leader for our linebackers. Prevost is they type of player who will always find the ball and make a play. I just want my linebackers to make good decisions and work hard. We want them to see the ball, make big plays, cause fumbles and give the ball back to our offense.”
Defensive backs:The Bears will use three safeties in the form of a strong, free, and weak. There is a strong battle at free safety between Fulkerson and McCready.. Cole brick, Brewster and McCready are also fighting for weak safety. McLaurin and Ortmann will be at
What makes Bowles’ defense most effective is when both safeties have the ability to play in coverage and in the box. Which, the Jets have struggled to find in recent years. But, hopefully that will change with the Jets recent draft selections in Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye. The Jets are in the midst of a rebuild and are trying to get younger, faster and stronger on defense. In an ideal world Bowles would love to deploy 3 safeties in this game plan and hopefully he has that ability with Pryor, Adams and Maye on the roster now. Bowles defense also relies on a NT that can take on blockers and free up the ends and linebackers to get after the quarterback. Damon Harrison thrived in this role in 2015 and it showed with the Jets defensive numbers. In 2016 Steve McClendon was suppose to fill Harrison’s void, but he struggled to occupy blockers. Deon Simon has shown promise as a player that can play the NT position in Bowles defense. Which should help the Jets get more pressure on the quarterback at a more consistent
Between Nigel Bowden and Cunningham, the 'Dores have one of the best inside linebacker units in the SEC. Having linebackers who are able to help control the line of scrimmage in front of an experienced secondary is part of the reason Vanderbilt's defense has ranked in the top 25 in multiple categories. Cunningham is just one of four of the Commodores top five tacklers from a season ago who are back for the 2016 season.
As of right now, the Bucs have Z-E-R-O players with any ability to pass rush. Sure, Robert Ayers is good at what he does, but don't expect more than 6 sacks out of him. William Gholston is a great “run stopping” left DE but don't expect him to get to the opposing QB very often. Last year we drafted Noah Spence and he has shown flashes of his skills, but he has been injured most of the year.
"Our corners have had a few good practices, especially Hakeem Bailey," defensive coordinator Tony Gibson said. "He's a guy that keeps making play after play. He's got some picks. He's got some nice pass breakups. I think he's doing a really good job. Elijah Battle is solid, doing everything he needs to at this point. Mike Daniels. So we got some guys. Corey Winfield is a new addition. He's learning and I think hopefully as we get deeper in camp, he will be able to make some more plays for us. Trying to bring some young guys along, too."
Jeremey Soehnlin received the Defensive Player of the year from the Belleville West Football Coaches. Soehnlin has been apart of the athletic department of Belleville West since his freshman year, and now, in his senior year, his team spirit and skill are being recognized.
The Big 12 rushing leader last season, Smallwood's strong test numbers don't quite translate to the field, but he's a well-rounded back with a solid pass pro and receiving skills. Doug Pederson will find a way to get him in the rotation often next season. --Mark Dulgerian
In today’s games, the stats are not very impressive. The Bears current starting QB is Matt Berkley. Completing only 129 passes for 1611 yards is not an impressive feat in the NFL. He has only thrown 8 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The leading receiver, Cameron Meredith, has 66 catches for 888 yards. He has fumbled the ball 3 times and lost the ball twice during those 3 fumbles. His
This week they are taking on another undefeated team in the Broncos. I expect Eddie Lacy to have a much bigger role in the offense this week, as according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he has looked much healthier than he did the last
It has been a while since the Chicago Bears have had a dominating backfield with multiple running backs. Previous seasons of injury and players being ridden to exhaustion have kept Chicago’s running game from playing at its full potential throughout a complete season. The Bears were blessed with the talents and abilities of Matt Forte, but this year could be the start of something amazing.
Junior Wilton Speight leads Michigan’s offense this year, taking over the quarterback position for Jake Rudock. As just a young
It was very interesting to see which less decorated players would emerge from the group and stand out . Backup running back Darius Graves, a redshirt sophomore from Dudley looked very good. He has a shiftiness to his game, his quickness, and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield will making him a Darren Sproles -like weapon. Put Graves speed in the backfield with Marquell “Baby Ricky Williams Cartwright’s downhill running style, the Aggies’ backfield will be a weapon of mass
The 1985 bears have always been known for their defense and people have gave the defense the credits to why they won the championship. But their offense which had some of the best players football has produced, from the trenches to the back field. I'm going to compare this team with other teams such as the 72 dolphins and the 2007 patriots.
The Bears suck this year literally, they just blow. Like I’m a really big bears fan and i'm not even watching them anymore because they can't even win a damn game and its really sad. Lets hope they can get the game together next year and get better draft picks that might just help them out. What also that can help them win a damn game is a better defense, just watching them makes me want to cringe and turn the TV off. Now if you thought this offense was underwhelming last season (21st overall), wait until you watch them take the field without do-it-all running back Matt Forte, now a Jet, and tight end Martellus Bennett, who got traded (for virtually nothing) to the Patriots. THE PATRIOTS. Jesus. The Bears may as well have sprung Aaron Hernandez
The corners have been getting burned ever since Tim Jennings lost his breakout potential and ultimately Charles Tillman continually injuring himself. Head coach John Fox was the former Broncos head coach and has brought multiple broncos with him to the Windy City. Now don’t be fooled, they aren’t the Chicago Broncos similar to Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Ducks. This case is how former Broncos who joined Fox in Chicago wanted to accomplish the same results. General Manager Ryan Pace is by far a massive upgrade to Phil Emery who basically drafted players who looked good but were not good as in Brandon Hardin, Shea McClellin, Jon Bostic etc. Pace has drafted several caliber star players like Eddie Goldman and Adrian Amos. But this year, Pace failed to address the secondary often going for other players that most definitely are not part of the secondary. Then again, this is still a young team trying to rebuild into a champion which has not been seen since 1985 and have not been to the Super Bowl since 2006. Back then, the secondary was disciplined enough to win and it proved to be good until the rainy night in South
In 2015, the waters only figure to get deeper. The Beavers have lost starting QB Sean Mannion (3,164 yards, 15 TDs) and a vital part of the rushing tandem in Terron Ward (696 yards, 10 TDs.) to graduation. At the QB position, Coach Andersen has three freshmen from which to choose. Redshirt FR Nick Marshall might have a slight edge, but nothing has been settled at this point in time. In the running game, it looks like SR RB Storm Woods will get his chance to shine, coming off a decent season where he rushed for a team leading 766 yards and 5 TDs while platooning. At wide receiver, JR Victor Bolden remains as the team's primary receiver after catching 72 passes for 798 yards and 2 TDs.
