The game will most likely be a nail biter, it will go into triple overtime, only to be won by the Seahawks. The green and blue confetti will
Sports are integrated into people’s lives. They have a great influence on human society, not only for people’s health but also for cultural development. Different countries like and are good at different sports. For example, when people hear about China, people will think of ping-pong. When people hear about Brazil, people will think of soccer. Currently, the United States is the most powerful country in the world. What type of sports are the Americans good at or like? It must be the American football. In the United States, what professional American football event is the most watched? People have to say that it must be The Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is so really popular in America that the Sunday of The Super Bowl has become compared to a national festival. Every single year, lots of popular singers and musicians give people a big show during the halftime of the game. Thanksgiving day is the first-largest food consumption day in the United States, and which day is the second? Of course be The Super Bowl Sunday. (TicketCity). The Super Bowl has a great impact on many aspects of Americans.
America needs the NFL for it is the biggest thing in American. People from various beliefs and backgrounds can come together for the same common goal in their team. It gives Americans something to believe in, something to rely on. Its reputation is held high, regardless of politics or religion the NFL is something Americans can agree on. Football means so much to Americans that they have projected so much belief and desire onto football it has been there for whatever Americans have needed it to be when times have been tough.
The NFL was founded on September 17, 1920 and was known as the American Professional Football Association (APFA). It was renamed in 1922 as the National Football League or NFL. In 1920 there were eleven football franchises to form the first professional football league compared to the 32 teams that form the league now. The original teams are: Canton Bulldogs, Cleveland Tigers, Dayton Triangles, Akron Professionals, Rochester (N.Y.) Jeffersons, Rock Island Independents, Muncie Flyers, Decatur Staleys, Chicago Cardinals, and Hammond Pros. Jim Thorpe was elected as the league's first president. In 1970 NFL's rival league AFL merged their schedules and formed two conferences in which the AFL became AFC and NFL became NFC.
Although the National Football League (NFL) seems to provide a source of entertainment for Americans, it is slowly but surely brainwashing our population. Starting in September, a great majority of the American population gathers around TV screens and crowds into stadiums across the country to watch men ram into each other in hopes of getting a leather ball to the end of a field. This occurs every Sunday, as well as the occasional Saturday and Monday night. Fans spend hundreds of dollars on game tickets, and NFL Ticket TV subscriptions to ensure that they never miss a game. If we were to take a step back and look at it, these weekly occurrences seem to become ritualistic. What was supposed to be a source of entertainment has become a routine
Just caught the tail end of the Steelers win in the Super Bowl against the Cardinals, shown on the NFL Network. It's hard to convince me that the throw from Ben and catch by Santonio Holmes is not the best ever. Especially, under the circumstances. To win the Superbowl on that play, still amazes
In 2009, arguably one of the best Super Bowl was played in Tampa, Florida. This game featured the AFC champions Steelers and the NFC champions Cardinals, in which the Steelers prevailed 27-23. As any football fan could tell you the score of this game was not a low one at all. For the cardinals to put up 23 against the Steelers number one defense was shocking. Even more stunning, was to see the Steelers offense generate enough offense to put up 27 point. The Steelers offensive game had been struggling throughout the season, but their hard hitting, alert defense made up for it. Yet, this game is no joke a tam cannot win if any part of their game is slacking. Knowing this the Steelers came out ready to play. This game wasn’t just a high scoring
Just eight teams remain with a chance to capture the Vince Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl 50 next month. Of those eight teams, four of them feature a quarterback that was selected No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft (Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Alex Smith, Cam Newton), which is the first time in NFL history four quarterbacks selected with the top pick will play in a round of the playoffs. Below is a preview of this weekend’s NFL action.
fans realize that the games that they are going to see, the Browns will be on the
The game started out very well for Denver. After forcing Washington to go 3 and out, the Broncos scored on their first play from scrimmage, when quarterback John Elway threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Ricky Nattiel, giving Denver a quick 7–0 lead after just 1:57 had elapsed in the game. It was the earliest touchdown any team had ever scored in Super Bowl history (this record would be broken by Jerry Rice in Super Bowl XXIX, and later by Devin Hester in Super Bowl XLI). The Broncos quickly forced Washington to punt, and once again Elway displayed his superb scrambling skills. On the second play of Denver's ensuing possession, Elway completed a 32-yard pass to wide receiver Mark Jackson. Then he caught a 23-yard pass from halfback
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of thirty-two National Football League Franchises that currently play in the game today. They have a long and strong history that has won them several titles and super bowl victories. I have been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan since I was old enough to understand the game. The Pittsburgh Steelers currently tie the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco Forty Niners for the most super bowl appearances at eight. They hold the record and are the only team to have won six super bowls.
When you see someone that is different than you what do you think? Well the story, “Ezekiel Johnson” by Walter Dean Myers and the National Football League Super Bowl LI, both show a person or a number of people acting differently than they look when it comes out to the end. When something good happens to them people think that they have changed but when it comes to the end the person or people show who they really are. In both stories the people acted differently than what they had and what people thought about them. In “Ezekiel Johnson” the theme is shown by him acting differently than what he had, but Super Bowl LI shows the theme by the New England Patriots acting differently than what the people predicted.
Likely to be Peyton Manning's last ever game playing quarterback, Super Bowl L is his fourth appearance. Hopefully it won't end like the second and third time his team made the Super Bowl (with his team losing). He is not the quarterback he once was, the one who broke single season records, like most touchdown passes in a season (with 49). Peyton is one of the few players who started playing in the 1990s to still be playing.
One advertisement and many would say their most famous advertisement was in 1993 during the Super Bowl. just before the kickoff of Super Bowl XXVII on NBC, McDonald's aired "The Showdown" with Larry Bird and Michael Jordan, a minute and a half ad in which Jordan shows up at a gym with a Big Mac sandwich and fries and is challenged by Bird to a game of H*O*R*S*E, with the winner getting the meal.
After looking into the opportunity of purchasing an ad slot for Super Bowl LI, I believe that Ford Motor should not purchase a slot. While the Super Bowl provides an excellent opportunity to have a large audience, the costs outweigh the benefits in this era. First is the space cost at $5 million this year. That doesn’t mention production costs which could bring the total cost up to $30 million. Secondly, all of our competitors will be putting ads out which could limit our effectiveness. Our ad and message will have to be perfect to get the reaction we want against the others. Last, 39% of millennials do not have cable T.V. and many people are now skipping ads because of DVR.
Super Bowl is the biggest sport event in the U.S and a lot of money and effort goes into it. Super Bowl is “the National Football League championship game, played annually between the champions of the National and the American Football Conferences.” Super Bowl is not only the biggest sport’s event but it has become part of American culture and it is the most watched event every year. “The Super Bowl has existed since 1967 when the champions of the two competing professional football leagues, the NFL and the AFL, played an extra postseason game after the conclusion of their respective playoffs. When the two leagues merged a few years later, the Super Bowl became the annual championship game” (Sporting Charts, 2017).
