Super Tracker Diet Plan Personal Diet Vs. Recommendations from the Food Guide Pyramid Initially, Arteria’s diet consisted mainly of fast foods and carbohydrates, eaten twice a day, in the afternoon and evening. This has sharply contradicted with the dietary recommendations from the Super Tracker. Arteria routinely consumed coffee in the morning and some sugary snacks and bread during lunch. The fast food and junk foods she ate contained oil, sugar, and lots of calories, which could eventually lead to an unsustainable development of obesity. Her dinner contained starch and proteins, mainly green vegetables, beans, and meat, usually in proportionate quantities and qualities. This type of daily routine, according to the website …show more content…
The fiber, according to the plan, would ease digestion and reduce constipation. The red, orange, and green vegetable soup could and should be served as main dish, alongside the diaries, peas, and other fats in the afternoon. This would ensure that Arteria gets the required energy through the produced calories. Furthermore, the fruits and grains would also form part of Arteria’s diet. The fruits should be 100 percent fresh for maximum calories and should involve a variety of them for optimum taste and freshness based on the season of the fruits. This could be served as a breakfast dish. Whole grains could be consumed as part of the main dishes, coupled with other cereals, such as bread, crackers, pasta, and rice, which are all great sources of energy. The grains should be labeled as ‘whole.’ The milk content in the dairy column should include fat-free or low-fat contents, which should be taken in full glass for more content of protein. Recommended Number of Servings According to the three-day dietary recommendations, a measurable quantity of each food group should be taken to ensure that the healthy status is restored. For instance, in vegetables, for the period of three days, the plan requires three times serving of the vegetable content, to add enough fiber into the diet for favorable digestion. For the breakfast, the food would be served once in the morning, which includes grains, fruits, dairy and other morning snacks. During lunch session, the chunk of the
Based on a 24 Hour Recall of my diet, results using NutriCalc Plus report that my food intake lacked a healthy balance of all food groups. I have learned a lot from this two-day diet analysis assignment. In my two day assessment, I recorded my food intake, quantities, drinks, snacks, condiments, where and who I was with during the meal, the time of day, and the amount of time I spent eating. I was able to analyze my diet to examine what I was eating and what types of nutrients I was getting. I then compared all aspects with my recommended levels of nutrients for my dietary recommended intake. I learned that my eating habits are not the best and could lead to serious health problems in the future that may be detrimental.

In comparison with my DRIs, my intake of kcalories from carbohydrates, protein, and fat are all within or below the recommended ranges. When I compared my Macronutrient Distribution to my DRI, I realized that I was very close to recommended amount of fat intake. One thing that I could improve on is my protein consumption. My carbohydrate intake is also something I can improve on being that it was below the daily-recommended intake. Looking at my Energy Balance report and comparing the calories that I consumed versus my energy expenditure I can interpret that I did not burn any of the calories that I consumed. Over the summer my goal was to do at least an hour of cardio daily. Since the semester has started I have fallen off. Therefore, I am creating a plan in which I will incorporate cardio into

To maintain optimal health through a balanced diet it is important to keep the intake of macronutrients within the recommended ranges. The effects of eating too many macronutrients or not enough can cause under-nourishment or over-nourishment. “Over-nutrition occurs when long term human energy intake exceeds energy expended on basal metabolism, digestion, work and leisure” (Huffman, Huffman, Rickertsen, & Tegene, 2010, p. 5). Over-nutrition of any nutrient in some instances can create toxicity in the human body that may result in future morbidity. The macronutrient intake during the 3-day-diet ranges both inside and outside of the
I used Supertracker, which is a diet analysis software, in which I used to help determine modifications in his diet prescription. As for nutrients, Justin needed to add more nutrients to his diet because of his poor eating habits. The foods that we decided to eliminate were soda's since he has about one to two protein shakes a day. The foods that we decided to include were all areas of the food pyramid because he is lacking in most areas. I suggested that he try's to eat about 6 ounces of grains a day, 2 ½ cups of vegetables a day, 2 cups of fruits a day, about 2 ½ to 3 cups of milk/dairy products a day, and about 5 ½ to 6 ounces of meat and/or beans a day. I told him that he doesn't have to make this change overnight but it is he gradually
The first step in preparing an action plan for nutrition and diet begins with an analysis of my past records on these things, and of the changes that I made over the course of the semester as I became more aware of these issues. The first study was done during January at the beginning of the semester, and the second study of my nutrition intake was done in at the beginning of March. These two studies are the basis of my nutritional plan, and a similar methodology was used with respect to the exercise plan.
