Superpower Persuasive Speech

For both of my predictions I'm telling you who will be in the Super Bowl as this is not a prediction. I'm right a lot in case you don't know. How would you describe genius? How about intelligence or mentally challenged? What defines our ability to process information and understand it? Many would describe or define this in an Intelligence Quotient ( IQ ). This can potentially tell us how intelligent or “smart” we are. What if there was a way to raise this dramatically? What if you could go from average or even mentally challenged, to being able to understand, collect, and remember articles of knowledge efficiently? Would you want to? Two books, Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes and Lest We Remember by Isaac Asimov explore this idea.

Although super suits aren’t an actual super power, I believe they can be used in lieu of powers in order to protect people. Ironman, Antman, or even Daredevil; all of these heroes are men in powerful suits with fighting experience, defending their cities from evil. It takes good character and honor to be able to do the right thing and help those in need, so that has always been a goal of mine. I’d need good communication with the city or area I protect, they’d need me to be able to respond quickly and effectively at a moment’s notice. I wouldn’t want to be one of the “in the shadows” heroes, I love heroes who interact with the city people they protect.

More brainpower means smarter scientists and more technological breakthroughs, including in smart pills. Smart pill breakthroughs create even smarter scientists, who invent even better smart pills.

To progress as a society, we must first look back at all the hardships faced throughout the years. We must look at the world leaders who were able to convince entire countries to eliminate millions of people different than themselves. We must understand the groups of extremists spreading terror and fear across the globe, and we must control people in power abusing their positions to benefit themselves and their agendas. Instead of ignoring these human mistakes, we must break them down and figure out how they could happen. Being smarter than everyone in this competitive world would be the ideal imperium. This superpower can easily be acquired by just having some smart drugs. Smart drugs or cognitive enhancers are formally known as Nootropics, which are used to augment mental performance. Nootropics can enhance a lot of areas like memory, intelligence, creativity or motivation. These drugs are essentially prescribed to cure or help brain disorders like ADHD, Alzheimer's disease, depression and many more (Husain and Mehta, 2011). However, these drugs are misused for a greater brain capability and moreover using these drugs cause a lot of side effects and raises ethical concerns.

Humans, for a long time, have thought that they are unique in their intelligence. It has set them apart from other animals and allowed them to conquer the world. Today, we use our intelligence to create technology that can carry multiple people across the world in merely hours and to destroy a significant portion of the planet with the push of a button. As we become increasingly complex and allow machines to perform the tasks once requiring human labor, we are attempting to reach the greatest task that humans have to complete: thinking.

For example, using a leftover coffee can for loose nails or screws, or even washing and reusing a plastic zip-loc bag instead of throwing it in the garbage. Thrift shopping is a way of reusing someone else’s unwanted goods. As I spoke about in an earlier speech about thrifting, I included many locations and ways to thrift, also the benefits to the shopper and the donator. One place in particular was shopping at the local boys and girls club. I personally shop there, keeping my eyes open for a good deal. For example, the pair of jeans that I am wearing today was purchased from this store just a few months ago. I paid only $8.00 for this pair of Lucky Jeans and according to buckle.com, a retailer for lucky jeans the retail price is $99.00 that is a savings to me of $91.00.I am not the type to worry about name brands, but quality usually does cost more. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store. I am thankful to the person that made the donation of the lucky jeans and they can benefit from that donation. According to the IRS webpage, IRS. Superintelligence is an artificial intelligence that has its own brain and can develop its own thoughts which is likely to be smarter than human in every aspects including ability to work and social skills. Superintelligence can come in many forms of technology including computers and robots. In today’s world, there are many evidences which prove that superintelligence exists in our society. Human beings are known to be selfish and I won’t deny that. We want to be the best and do the best. We love being the center of attention and most of the time we don’t care about others. That’s why if we are told to choose a superpower, the first thought we have is “I want to be the strongest”, “I want to be the fastest”, or “I want to be the smartest”. We only think about superpowers like speed, strength, mind reading, being able to fly, and being invisible. We should look around and see the world around us. What’s going on? Sicknesses, terminal diseases, wars, natural disasters, violence, etc. All of these problems are frustrating because some of us would like to give a hand to the ones that need our help and most of the times it is impossible. Artificial Intelligence is a topic within the public media that has existed for decades, but is now a concern due to the reality of human advancement and innovation in the field of science and technology. Many people believe that computers will become self-aware or sentient and view humanity as a disposable resource and gain supremacy. Reasoning that research on the technology should halt and not become more advance. Whereas others believe they will help catapult research and the economy forward, supporting the operations and innovations the technology offers. When I was a kid I wished I was Super Man and save the world, but its almost impossible save a world with 7 billion people in the world, it would be impossible to have control of every human on Earth. So if you are planning to save the world you need to think of a power that will help the most people, because you cant help all of them. So the super power that came in mind is the power of reading minds.Reading minds is the most awesome thing. All you need to is look that person, you can be far from that person, but by only looking at them you can start reading mind, its as easy as eating a candy.
